Good until it broke. No customer service...
I’ve had this bag for about a year. It’s been used but not a ton. Nice enough bag, pretty simple really.Recently mid ride the main zipper began to separate from the bag. It wasn’t full and there was no strain on the zipper or seam. I had to use zip ties to keep stuff from falling out of the bag.I filled out Chase Harper’s warranty info on their website a week ago. No response. A “lifetime warranty” isn’t much good if nobody responds to inquiries...

Right size, good quality, fair price = just right
I ride a motorcycle as my primary transportation and have gone through just about every way to carry "stuff". After having this tank bag for a month or so, I think this might be as good as it gets. This Chase-Harper has a great combination of manufacturing quality, bag size and price. The bags are made in USA. I don't know how much of it is actually made here but I'm assuming it was stitched here at the least. All the stitching, seams, zippers etc are great quality and I can see this lasting a number of years. The magnets that hold the bag on the (ferrous) tank are very strong and the bag is stable even at rather high speeds. The side and end pockets are useful without making the bag into a swiss army knife of little spaces and zippers everywhere.Importantly, the bag expands when more space is needed. The way it expands keeps the bag very stable on the tank even when fully loaded and provides a substantial amount of useful space. I can easily pick up a few days groceries or pack for an overnight trip. The bag has a strong carry handle and is well balanced when being carried. the magnetic flaps fold away under the bag when it is being used away from the motorcycle. The dimensions allow folders, notebooks etc up to letter size to lay flat and not be crumpled or creased. The price was not the cheapest but not at all unreasonable and very good value when the quality of the item is taken into account. I would recommend any Chase-Harper product made to the same standard. My only very small gripe is the map or tablet pouch that comes with the bag. To me it does not add value but it is detachable. If you use a tablet or cell phone for navigation, this bag might not be the best choice for you.

Outlived the bike.
The only real con I have to list is that the bag will scuff your paint, no matter what you do, but it is minor, and I never worried about it. The safety tether strap is a bit bulky and hard to get out of the way, but that was a minor challenge. The strap also kept my things securely attached to my bike when that Subaru decided my bike and I needed a hug. This bag was the only part on the bike that wasn't damaged. I still have the bag and I could continue to use it (and probably will if I get another bike with a metal tank, but I'm stuck with a Goldwing right now and there's nowhere to put it and nothing for it to hang on to).I was a little dubious of the the price when I decided to give it a shot. It was big enough to hold everything I needed it to, plus a bunch I didn't usually have to (including dinner from the store on several occasions) and made it quick and easy to secure my stuff at the end of the day, I just took the bag inside with me. I can't attest to the clear sleeve for touch screen phones or GPS or whatnot, I never used it. The bungee cord on top worked great for a light jacket, not so much for a Monster can (but you can fit several inside it).Oh, and in case you were wondering, it protected everything in the bag from the wreck. Including my camera and MP3 player. There's not even a scuff mark from where it met the the road. Considering there wasn't a part on the bike that wasn't bent, it's amazing how this bag held up.I certainly recommend it for everything I used it for. Maybe not for being tackled by a Subaru, but hey, if that's on your agenda, this bag will work for you too.

Extremely convenient and feature rich with good quality construction
This bag is one of the better tank bags I have used. If you have a metal tank, the magnets will clamp on with enough force to keep the bag attached no matter what speed you are going. I have a Kawasaki Z400 "naked" bike, and have not had cause to worry about the bag coming off the tank, even on the highway. Of course, you can also use this as a great tail bag as well. It has a sleeve on the bottom so you can tuck in the rubberized flaps when in "carry" mode, and you can use this sleeve to strap down the bag on the pillion seat or cargo rack. This bag has plenty of room and is well structured for day to day commuting or weekend trips. It can, and probably should, take the place of a backpack if you are currently wearing one on your motorcycle. For the price, under 100 bucks, it's probably the best value softbag for motorcycles on the market. Id recommend it to anyone.

Heck yea it's made in the USA!
Earlier this year I did a bunch of looking - in many different places - for a quality tank bag to replace my current ragged one. I came up empty handed. However, in mid-June I took a cycle trip with a friend and was shocked to see the PERFECT tank bag sitting atop his gas tank. I studied it carefully and immediately said, "That's the bag I've been looking for." As soon as I returned from my cycle trip I put in my order for the Chase Harper tank bag and within days it found a new home on my Kawasaki ZRX1100 gas tank. What a beauty, and so incredibly high quality and fiendishly functional. The receipt of this bag, though, has created one major problem. On prior times - with my old tank bag on - when I'd drive to my favorite hiking spot, I never considered someone might steal my bag. I mean really, the stitching on the zipper was unraveling, the plastic on the see-thru map area was breaking apart, and it was totally sun-faded.But with my new Chase Harper tank bag, shoot, it's such a fine looking piece of artwork that I feel certain someone is going to quickly figure out it's only held by some magnets and scarf it up. Thankfully - if that happens - I know where to buy another high quality tank bag :)

Great magnets, good bag
This is the best tank bag I have ever had. The magnets are awesome! I remove the bag from my motorcycle and store it fully loaded on my locker door at work. I had a really nice Joe Rocket and two really cheap tank bags in the last 10 years. In the two cheap tank bags, I had to sew in larger magnets from car stereo speakers.
