I like filtered water for drinking, even though our city water is fine. We use a filter that is installed at home by our faucet, BUT these are great if you have water that tastes weird at work, for example, or if you are travelling. The discs are individually packaged inside the main packaging. They fit right in certain water bottles. I think it's a great concept. I also like the idea of storing them for emergency preparedness, since you can pour water through the disc into a separate container if there is a problem with your regular water supply.I don't have a way to know if the water is more purified after using the discs, so i can't verify if any pesticides or micro particles, etc, have been reduced.

First, I am very picky about my water. I usually use premium filtration, but when I saw this, I thought I would give it a try, as it is 1) portable 2) easy to use.Note that I used this as a standalone ( not in the Brita bottle where you insert this disc in ), so not sure if that matters, but I did notice a difference when using this filter.For my purpose, I just placed the disc in a glass bottle and poured water, and shook the bottle occasionally to have the water mix with the filter. The longer I left the water sit with the filter, the better the water tasted ( so I assume the filter was doing its job ).The biggest pro of this disc filter is its' portability. From having come back from travels ( where I am dependent on obtaining water from plastic bottles in supermarkets :( ), it is good to have portable filtration ability. These discs are lightweight, individually packaged, and so easy to use.Initially, I could taste a more alkaline taste when using this filter ( as is often the case with carbon filtration ), but eventually, this taste went away to deliver more clear taste.It does an o-kay job. It filters somewhat to my liking, but I am using it to filter bottled water! For more heavy-duty filtration, it doesn't go to that level ( perhaps if you leave the water with the filter longer, it will work somewhat ) but there were times when the filter wouldn't filter everything out after an entire day sitting in the water. 3/5 for filtration ability ( but again, better than nothing ) especially if you are travelling and don't have access to your usual water filters.

Hi,THese Micro Disc Water Filters for Brita Fill and Go Water Filter Bottles seem to work pretty well. They are working to remove the smell of chlorine in my tap water. I noticed that the water is also tasting better than it usually does with out the filter. I think that these are marked at a good price and I would buy these again when I run out. I like having these around and especially for on the go water bottles and my son takes his bottle to school everyday. So these are nice to have and I can rest assured knowing that his water is staying filtered and clean!I would recommend these filters. =)

I received four small water filter discs (gray/black). They are 2 1/8" in diameter, 1/4" thick, and they each weight less than 1/4 Oz. They don't have an orientation, so just put one in your bottle either way.I don't really have any easy way to determine if they work because my water is not dirty nor smells. But the water it produces still tastes great. If you are one who cares about the environment and plastics, this will help by reducing your plastic bottle use.I believe all the statements in the description are correct and accurate (other than what I noted above).

Full disclosure: I actually got these as replacement filters to use for my cat's water fountain, and I have to say that these are very well made! They'll last way longer than the typical water fountain filters. They're very hard and the black part of the filters stayed together much better than I expected, and I didn't end up with a bunch of black specks floating around in the water as I'd worried about.I'm very pleased with these! Would recommend!
