Q: Would this work for my 5 year old with thin hair?

It worked for my great grandaughter. It took a little work to get it spread around to cover the bun.

Q: Can one use it to make their own bun without help from anybody else? Can it be used on an adult?

Yes, you can use it to make a bun by yourself. I did not have any help, and I have hair that is down to my butt. Yes, you can use it on an adult or child. That doesn't matter, as long as you have enough hair to be put into a ponytail and cover the foam.

Q: I have very curly hair so Will it be easy to work with this on thick curly hair?

I have curly hair too and have used this bun maker before. I like to use it for summer, when I don’t want my hair on my neck making me hotter. I don’t need to straighten my hair, I just dampen it and use a comb and light gel to smooth it out :) Heat or straightening is unnecessary if your hair is going to be up in a bun anyway!

Q: Can you leave some of your hair down do it kinda makes a belle from beauty and the beast look?

Yes. You can do it however you want. You can even use 2 at the same time. My granddaughter came over with her hair done in 2 yesterday. It was cute.
