This replacement rail will solve your compatibility woes. The original factory rail incorporates "Weaver" type recoil slots that are too small for MIL-STD/STANAG recoil bolts & rods. The injection molded plastic rail has proprietary spacing and protrusions from the surface that interfere with standard accessories. Furthermore, the factory rail has inconsistent clamping surfaces and often significant warpage and bow over its length. Simple installation - no modifications required to original firearm. It may seem a bit pricey, but it's priced at exactly the market value for this type of accessory. If you own a 995TS, you purchased it at a low cost of entry. Purchasing these type of aluminum rails will increase the quality of your firearm one piece at a time. By the time you're done, you will have a quality custom firearm, but you will have spent nearly the same as going with a better brand right off the bat. The weaver, proprietary rails on the 995TS will lead to eventual frustration, unless you only buy accessories from Hi-Point. This rail will ensure that you can run any optic you fancy, without fail. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great replacement for the OEM rail *by K***. on Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2016* Finally got around to installing this new rail on my 995TS 9mm Carbine. I have to say that it is way better than the OEM polymer rail that came on the rifle. Much more rigid, and my Red Dot Reflex sight fits a lot better, and tightens down on the rail much better as well. Some may think that this rail is a little pricey, but from my perspective it's well worth the price to get a more stable platform for your Picatinny accessories. Wasn't too hard to change out once you get your receiver shroud removed. Make sure to use a little Blue Locktite on the screws when you put the new rail on. You'll need an adaptor if you want to use the original rear peep sight, but if you are going to use a red dot, or put pop-up sights on you won't need the adaptor.
