I am 5'9", 145lb, usually a size 8, and read reviews from people much shorter with the same weight who ordered small and medium and they fit, but I will exchange these for large and hopefully the elastic waist is an inch or two bigger. On the medium, the unstretched dimension is about 28". Sort of turned my stomach actually (hence the 3 star rating). The pajamas were simply wadded up, top and bottom together, and stuffed into a plastic bag. I bought a pair for my daughter for Christmas and they are adorable on her. They were folded nicely and obviously new. Hence, I got me a pair. The bottoms are a little long, but not so you stumble on them. They are silky feeling, so very comfortable to lounge and sleep.
