I can't say enough good things about these Mutti Polpa tomatoes! I keep coming back to Amazon for them time and time again because they really are the best quality tinned tomatoes I've ever used. What really sets these apart is how wonderfully non-acidic they are. I've tried so many other brands that leave that sharp, harsh taste, but these are perfectly balanced - sweet, rich, and smooth without any of that unpleasant acidity. They taste like proper sun-ripened Italian tomatoes should! The finely chopped texture is spot on - not watery like cheaper brands, but thick and clingy with just the right amount of pulp mixed with the juice. I use them for absolutely everything: pasta sauces, pizza bases, curries, stews, soups. They work brilliantly in any dish. The quality is consistently excellent every single time. No metallic taste, no green bits or stalks, just beautiful Italian tomatoes from Parma. Knowing they're made with 100% Italian tomatoes and just a pinch of salt (no preservatives or additives) makes me feel good about what I'm feeding my family. They're a bit more expensive than supermarket own-brands, but the difference in quality is absolutely worth it. Amazon's pricing is competitive too, and the convenience of having them delivered means no lugging heavy tins around the supermarket!

Without paying silly prices these are the best tinned, chopped tomatoes to buy. Four tins for £6.00 in the supermarket, £12 for 12 tins on Amazon. The great thing is no carrying home a dozen tins and you have fabulous tomatoes for all your cooking. These are NOT the cheap watery tins. They are a rich, smooth, full bodied tin of quality chopped tomatoes. Go on, buy and few tins first, then taste the difference ~ then reorder a dozen for the cupboard.

THE best tomatoes for your cooking. Very fine chopped (basically pulp) so amazing for italian sauces. I personally like something a little coarser for chille or adding to curries. But these do taste the best for sure. If you can get on a deal they are definitely worth the money.

Definitely think it’s worth paying a bit extra for good quality tinned tomatoes. Nice and thick, good flavour and not watery like cheaper ones!

Huge taste difference!!

As a professional chef, I've used Stanislaus 74/40 for many years. #10 cans aren't very user friendly for the home chef, so for the house, I normally buy Cento brand San Marzano 29 oz cans. A friend from Parma Italy suggested I give Mutti tomatoes a try. I bought a case of Polpi 15 oz cans and was blown away! These taste of ripe, summer tomatoes with the perfect balance of acid & sweetness. Use them right out of the can as a pizza sauce, or simmer a bit with EVOO and a touch of garlic for a wonderful Marinara. Do yourself a favor and give these a try. Very versatile...use them where you would use whole, crushed or puree.

Half of the cans arrived dented

I like the smaller cans of tomatoes like these; sometimes recipes use only a cup or two of tomatoes, and cans of tomatoes are most often found in 28oz large sized. The taste is unadulterated and light and fresh. I also buy the Mutti WHOLE tomatoes in this sized can. You can always buy that and chop it up as you please to make what in essence is what this product offers; but for convenience, you have it done for you here. What's more, these are not for just Italian fare, I can use this for Indian-style recipes I make which often have tomato sauce as an ingredient. Mutti brand whole peeled and these chopped tomatoes work bc these tomatoes are just that, just tomatoes, no seasonings added to interfere with a flavor profile you need it to be. You add your own seasonings and herbs, and make it to fit the recipe. It's all good.

If you want true tomato taste...not at all acidy, not salty, not overwhelmed with added herbs, then I recommend Mutti Tomato Polpa. In my opinion, Mutti Tomato Polpa plus some Mutti Tomato Puree make the most delicious tomato sauce I've ever tasted. The puree thickens up the polpa (chopped tomatoes). Add olive oil, garlic, basil, salt and you've got a first-rate sauce. My husband, who is from Rome, agrees.
