I used this as a reference thermometer to calibrate a bunch of data loggers. Sealed the loggers in sous vide bags, put into an ice chest with a submerged fountain pump, added ice and let he loggers come to equilibrium. Checked against this thermometer and voile, a traceable temperature point. Drained the ice, turned on the sous vide circulator to 40C, waited a bit, got another traceable point. And for free learned that my Anova is good to a fraction of a degree. Total cost of less than lab calibration of a single data logger. And I did 14.

Seemed just as accurate as stated when tested against my other thermometers. Nice to have a constant calibrated checker.

I used this to make confirmation spot checks of temps on my reef tank. I was very happy with this until just the other day, after only 4 months, it just stopped working. It would not power on. I replaced the battery with an identical battery as was installed from the factory but nothing. Surely, I thought, there must be a warranty. Nope. Amazon refunded me $16.00 of the $47.93 I paid (before tax). You get what you pay for I guess. This initially seemed like a good deal for a NIST thermometer but with no warranty and no support, I would suggest you spend the extra money for one that is supported by the manufacturer.

I bought this for my husband that hates to wear his reading glasses. He loves it! Easy to read, accurate, and for him, the long probe is a huge plus. I would highly recommend.

I use this for checking the temperature of water in a saltwater aquarium. It was well worth the money and absolutely a requirement if you want to save time and be accurate when doing water changes in a aquarium. It's also great for calibrating other thermometers.

We’ve owned this item before. It lasts for many years and doesn’t get harmed by getting splashed with water. Great product.
