I was actually excited about this after seeing videos and reading the reviews, but this just didn’t work for me. I was able to get it on correctly and I usually have a pretty good let down. The pumping suction was horrible.

Is painful

I use this almost every time I breastfeed on the other boob to catch my letdown. It works really well for that and helps save extra milk. The flower on the Gen 2 is useless. It does not seal and will not protect it from a spill or in the fridge. I wish they sold the Gen 2 with the old lid instead of making you purchase it separately. I have the Gen 1 and the Gen 2. Great product, highly reccomend, but the flower is stupid and sacrifices all usefulness for pretty, which invalidates it's purpose.

I liked the Haakaa so much that I bought the 5oz size as well as the 4oz size. I found the 4oz size easier to use - the 5oz model silicone is a bit thicker, which made it more difficult to get the suction right. At first I thought getting an extra .5-1oz each use was silly - I didn’t realize how much this adds up and how helpful it is to get that extra milk without the hassle of hooking your boobs up to an electric pump. I don’t know that I could use this as a stand-in for a breast pump, but it does a great job at collecting extra milk throughout the day. It does take practice to get the fit and suction right, and after 2.5 months I don’t always feel consistent in my Haakaa skill or results, but it has been incredibly useful.

I like the idea if the design. The pump hurt when there is too much suction. I used it twice and was happy that I caught milk. However, I could never get the just right suction, so it was painful. There was a lot going on when feeding--nursing pillow and crying baby, so the pump got in the way. I tried adjusting while feeding and it became too much.

Unfortunately, this product just didn't work for me. I'm not sure if I waited too long to order but by the time I got this my body had figured out how much milk and I wasn't really leaking anymore (around 5 weeks) so when I used this I maybe got half an ounce. This was with massaging and heating which made it a stressful feeling. Also, I tried with my morning feeding after an 8 hour break when my milk is the highest. Also, I am large chested (DD) and barely had to squeeze to get it to suction on but it hurt a lot having the constant suction. I should also admit here that I do have low pain tolerance/sensitive nipples but I just got to the point with the baby where feedings weren't painful and then using the pump made it intolerable again. I really wanted this to work but wanted to give my honest feedback.

Maybe it’s just me but this hurts and draws me in too much- makes you swollen and red then pale like loss of circulation. It gets the job done though. It doesn’t hurt every single time but majority of the time it hurts me. The suction is strong because it draws you in so far. It’ll pop off as well if there’s not a lot of suction. I tried the upside down trick, the flower stopper works unlike the lid. Oz measurement is inaccurate by .5ish. Nice product but I have to adjust several times before putting baby on- it takes me 2 hands and I don’t want to lose any stop adjusting while she’s on! Lol

After doing a lot of research, I decided to give this product a try. I was very skeptical in the beginning and didn’t think that it actually worked, but after using this product I can officially say I cannot believe I went 2 months without it! It’s super easy to use and I usually get anywhere from 2-4 ounces, which would’ve otherwise been collected in my nursing pad. This is a great way to collect additional supply for your baby. I’m glad that I bought this, but upset with myself that I didn’t buy it sooner. 100% recommend!!!

For all the new moms it is one of the best things. Buy it without any 2nd thought it helps so much I just can’t tell you. But you will be thankful for this product.
