I hit gold. It's high quality 1.3 mm thick by 1 7/16 inches wide stainless steel. Making it impervious to bending or distortion from my tired, worn out, thick, old guy feet. The useable length is actually 17 " with an extra 1 1/2 " hook on top. Enabling me to easily utilize this handy tool in both the seated and standing position. Plus it has a convenient hole to hang it on a hook on my night table to keep it in arms reach for every day use of placing my snug shearling clad leather slippers on. Which used to be such a chore. If in doubt, don't be.
