It is a piece of cheaply made garbage that fell to pieces within a week and would never stay in place. I threw it in the garbage can after 3 weeks. **Q: What is the weight capacity of this shelf?** A: I’m unaware of the actual weight capacity. I have a clock, tissue box ,kindle , book & usually a glass of water on it no issues - sturdy . **Q: Can it hold the weight of a 20lb nosey cat?** A: It would be pushing it, even though the shelf is sturdy and well made.
