Brilliant product. Great for carb-conscious ice cream lovers.
The 1/2 pint containers that come with this ice cream maker are perfect for a single size serving - large enough to satisfy an ice cream craving, but also small enough for reasonable portion control if you are an ice cream binger. If you are serving more than one person, just buy some extra 1/2 pint containers so other people can customize their own ice cream treat. If you prefer a larger serving size, note that Cuisinart makes a pint version of this FastFreeze ice cream maker. There is also a 1.5 quart Cuisinart ice cream maker (that uses a freezer bowl) which I have used, but I find the FastFreeze ice cream maker to be more adaptable and convenient. Store-bought ice cream is full of carbohydrates in the form of sugars. If you love ice cream but need to reduce sugars/carbs because you are on a diet or because you are diabetic, then the FastFreeze ice cream maker will allow you to make and enjoy your own ultra-low carb ice cream. To make carb conscious ice cream, I fill the 1/2 pint container to the top of the vertical, ridged lines with 2/3 whole milk (a high protien, ultra filtered variety like Fairlife that has a low carb count) and 1/3 heavy cream. I sweeten with 1.5 tablespoons Lakanto Monk Fruit Sweetener (but I could use liquid stevia instead) and then I add a tablespoon of vanilla flavoring, and a tiny pinch of salt. This makes a great vanilla base for just about any flavor that you might want to create. You can also use coconut milk (like Silk brand) or almond milk (Blue Diamond brand) with a 50/50 ratio of "milk" to cream, rather than ultra filtered cow milk. This ice cream will have more ice crystals than when cow milk is used, but the final product will still be very tasty. If you like chocolate chip ice cream but are not satisfied with the size of the chips that the FastFreeze creates on the mix-in setting, try "pre-chipping" your chocolate bits using a small electric coffee/spice grinder, before adding them into your frozen vanilla base as a mix-in. For easy no-carb flavorings, try adding a teaspoon of Crystal Lite powdered drink mix. The grape drink powder makes a great "purple cow" and the orange powder makes a great "creamsicle." Having 1/2 pint containers of vanilla ice cream on hand, makes it possible to quickly and easily create any flavor you might be craving without being stuck having to work through a half gallon of store bought ice cream that is all one flavor... and one or two 1/2 pint FastFreeze containers take up much less freezer space... and FastFreeze hoe-made ice cream costs less per serving than most store bought ice creams, too. The design of the FastFreeze ice cream maker is smart. There are three parts. The motor (top section), the blade housing (middle section) and the ice cream cup (bottom section.) Clean up is fast and easy - just separate the middle section (blades) from the motor section. Then, clean the blades section and the empty 1/2 pint ice cream container(s) using hot water and a bit of dish soap. When finished, use the clean containers to make your next batch of vanilla base ice cream and put them in the freezer. Then store the motor and blades section in a kitchen cabinet or drawer until you are ready to use them again. Great design, brilliant product!

Beats the Creami (I have both)
First batch of ice cream eaten!!!! I own the Ninja Creami and couldnโt resist this one.My comparison:- containers are half the size or less, perfect for single serving- much quieter, much faster!- very easy to use. Doesnโt require lots of muscle or thought about how hard/fast to push- blend not quite as fine/smooth. Gonna experiment with it a bit- easy to clean, although pushing the blade out to clean takes a bit to figure out with just 2 hands- Super easy to storeIdeas for improvement:- recipe book is lacking. Iโd like some basic rules to follow (max 1 cup liquid, no frozen fruit, etc) A note on alcohol would be helpful too- max point on cups is a little up arrow. Needs a line- super powerful motor. Could they make food processor or blender attachments?Overall, fantastic for the price! If I were going to only purchase one this would be it, given the niche tool and usage it will get in my kitchen.

Easy to use, worth the $, easy to store away
Love, love this ice cream maker. Itโs basically just a specialized immersion blender. Comes with 3 โbowls โ and lids ( wish it was 4). Prepare the ice cream mixture, pour into bolw(s), freeze 24 and blend. SIMPLE. I have carpel tunnel and was afraid it may be a problem using the blender, but I found it VERY easy to use. The only problem I had was in cleaning the blades. Instructions say donโt immerse them in water, but if you donโt, itโs hard to clean thoroughly around and under. I clean with a wet paper towel but itโs very time consuming. All in all, I would buy again ( needs more recipes!!)

Get it! Don't hesitate ๐
Bought this for my Mom's Birthday. Showed her how to use it and it is "off to the races" for her and ice cream making! The machine is EASY to setup, EASY to use, EASY to clean, and the process is EASY to understand and execute! I loved it so much, I bought another one fore my Granddaughter, she is 7 and loves to cook!Do yourself a favor and buy the extra cups! You'll thank me later ๐

Gets the Job Done!
I was really hesitant to buy this machine and watched tons of reviews. I only do protein milk plus protein powder and some times yogurt. I have a creami at home which I love but wanted a smaller, prettier version for my little vacation place. Here's my tested results: IF you are doing protein versions, let the container sit out for 15 minutes. Add about 2 tbls of milk before the first run. Then run it one more time and it comes out perfect. If you try to process straight from the freezer, the machine struggles because it is less powerful than a creami. The container is small so one serving is perfect. Super easy to store the machine as well. Clean up is a breeze. I'm really happy with it. If you do the protein ice creams choose a powder that already has emulsifiers in it (like guar gum etc) then you don't have to mess with pudding powders and such. I eat ice cream for lunch and get 30 grams of protein. Heaven.

Great Concept, Defective Unit, and a Confusing Amazon Return Experience
I really wanted to love this. It's more compact than the Ninja Creami, quieter, and takes up less counter space. We got two batches out of it before the side lock became impossible to engage, couldn't push it in with my finger or the stick. Frustrating for a machine at this price. What made this so much worse was Amazon's new option to keep the item and receive a partial refund. The wording is poor enough that I accepted it thinking I was just helping Amazon avoid the cost of a return not that I'd be stuck keeping a broken machine. By the time I realized what I'd agreed to, the only fix was a full return, which meant starting over entirely. I decided it wasn't worth reordering the same product that had already failed me.I liked it enough that I still wanted a Creami, but wasn't willing to reorder a product that had already proven defective and had such a weird return experience. We ended up buying a Costco membership just to get one there because their return policy is actually straightforward.

Unless you have a helper to clean the unit with, I would not buy this
Very easy to operate, however very difficult to clean. In order to be able to clean properly you must be able to be strong enough to push the blades out and clean with the other hand at the same time.
