🏖️ Keep your pool pristine, even in winter's chill!
The Economy pool cover is a solid winter cover. Solid pool covers do not allow water to pass through their material. This winter cover is intended to be used during the off-season. Please order by your pool size, as the overlap goes beyond the pool size listed. This cover includes a 3 ft. overlap. If you have a very large top rail, please consider a larger pool size. The Economy pool cover has a 7 x 7 scrim. Polyethylene weighs 2.2 oz./yd2. The blue topside of this cover is coated to prevent damage caused by the sun's ultra-violet rays and the bottom side is black to prevent non-living organic matter. 2 grommets are placed on center every 4 ft., with these grommets, you should use the included winch and all-weather cable to secure your pool cover.

It's a little small
I ordered this cover for 21 foot round pool and it just fits it should've been a bit bigger

8 month update-the cover sank into thr pool- starting over.
UPDATE 8 MONTHS LATER:The 21 ft pool cover was definitely too big for my 18 ft pool, however it stayed in place with the wire tightly secured. Unfortunately it immediately began letting pool water through to the top. This water filled with dirt from west Texas winds and grew algae. The entire pool water evaporated down to almost half empty siphoning it off was useless due to debris clogging the siphon. Half of the remaining water was on top of the tarp anyway and we had no choice but to dump it into the pool and drain the pool. We're on round 2 of siphoning and vacuuming. The weave of the tarp let's water through so beware. Created tons more work for us. Maybe If our air pillow had not deflated it would've gone differently but I would not recommend this cover for west Texas. We threw it away!We have an 18 foot pool but I bought an oversized 21 foot cover. I think I'm glad I did but it is a little bit too big, obviously. It went on well with a couple helpers. I wish the grommets would've matched up with the pool poles all the ways round. 3 in a row would match up and the I'd have to skip two poles before they'd line up again. Not the end of the world. I bought a separate pillow. I appreciated the coated wire instead of string! It will not come loose like the string one we had last year. I also liked the anchor part that tightened the wire. It was pretty easy to figure out and did in fact wratchet the wire pretty tight. I don't think it's going to last 8 years but it's going to work for a couple years I hope. Will post an update if it falls apart in the first year but I'm very happy for now.

Thin
The cover seems thin, but strong for size.It looks like it will be 1 year coverage hopefully

Doesn't last long
I've bought this cover twice. Each time it has lasted 2 years before getting holes in it. For the price it's ok for the Ohio winters, knowing it will need replaced soon. The weave wasn't noticeable the first year, but more so the second year.

On my third season, still going strong.
I went into this purchase assuming I'd get a year's use out of this cover, trash it in the spring, and buy another the next fall; for $30 a year, that seemed completely reasonable to me and I was fine with that price.Reference: I'm in Illinois and have a cheapo 16 foot Bestways/Coleman/Intex soft side pool. I did not use pool pillows or put water on the cover. I drained it a couple weeks ago after snow melt and didn't have a sump pump on it year round. My mother, my 11 year old, and myself installed this last fall when I closed up the pool. It was fairly easy and took about an hour.I pulled it off today with the help of two 11 year olds. It came off easy with not issues. There isn't much debris in the pool, less than I expected given the weave, just a little dirt here and there. The cover itself is in really good shape still. I can get another year of use out of this. I'm pretty happy about that. So it's being pressure washed and stored. I don't know that I'll get 8 years out of it but two is fine by me for the price. The winch is junk. It's just a cheap, simple one and it will get you by. I used it this year and I'll probably use it again because I'll forget to order a better one. Don't except miracles out of the winch. The wire is alright. I think I'll get another year out of it, if not, it's an easy replacement.Edit 2021- another winter down and still in good shape. I'll get a third year, I'm sure. Used the winch again, too, because I'm psychic and forgot like I said, it worked fine. It's a little rusty now, though. We'll see what happens in year three.Edit-2022- still good and going another year. My mother just ordered the same cover for her pool, too.

It acts as it has a mind of it's own writhing like a 20 something foot
I bought this 9/20/2014. It was a pain putting on by myself. Keeping the big pillow float in the center of the pool was difficult during installation of the cover. Even with ropes holding the pillow in place. The pillow I bought had only 2 rope grommets, end to end of the pillow. It really needed to have 4, one every 90 degrees surrounding the circumference of the pillow. The cable tightening device, that comes with the cover is keen but awkward to use and the cable's rigidity can become a problem. It acts as it has a mind of it's own writhing like a 20 something foot, string sized snake .You must feed the cable through a sleeve sewn at the edge of the cover before attempting to place the whole thing over the pool, over the pillow and evenly distributed over the pool's edge. Initially, I had the cable quite taught fearing further tension would snap it. A little later and several times during the winter I had to go out in the weather to reposition the cable filled fringe. Eventually, I had attached numerous short sections of rope tied to the cable then secured to anything below; including the upright supports of the pool, the thick rope at the bottom outside edge of the pool that helps keep the pool in place while filling. I even hung heavy rocks, flat, circular cast iron weight lifting plates , and tried using pounded in stakes surrounding the pool to connect some of the vertical ropes. Every time the cover lost it's rigidity I had to release and reset the tensioner eventually tightening it to the degree a daredevil would his path over a crevasse in a death defying rope walking feat. I guess it's just really a two person job every time you have to work with it. During the blasting winter winds, the cover collected air and buffeted like a wraith imprisoned by a spell. I had to go out in the blowing cold and wet wrestle the thing trying to bring the cover's edges out of the pool. By the first misadventure water had collected on top of the cover that made it impossible to work with. Falling rain water and pool water that gets topside of the cover when you mess with it or not is impossible to remove because of it's excessive weight. It seems impossible to prevent collection of water topside. I could not create a dome or tepee-like surface taught enough that would successfully drain all the water off of the cover or stay rigid enough to prevent the collection of snow weight from foiling the whole system. If I wanted to end up with frost bite I could have released my 15 or so vertical ropes, release the cable, try to get the topside water off and redo the thing all over again in horrible weather. Which I did a few times. That was fun! Now I have some elbow length neoprene gloves but they are not insulated. In conclusion, the cover has been stretched beyond usefulness. The fabric is now mostly porous and multiple places look more like our outdoor trampoline's bounce base. I did succeed at snapping the cable with my use of force trying to keep it all in place. So as far as a warranty and the advertised years of livability ... as the Geico lizard said, "Forget about it". I'm not pursuing a refund. No doubt the multiple efforts, the methods and the forces I had to apply trying to secure it all would negate it. By spring the whole set up failed and I no longer had the patience nor wanted to waste my time and energy trying to jerry-rig it to work. By summer 2016 I should have a nice batch of tannin brewing in the bottom of the pool because I'm not bothering to go through that fiasco again.
