These work excellently
Very pleased with the installation, very well made, and saves a lot of cutting and installing a j-block.

Great solution!
This is a great solution to installing a fixture on siding after it has already been installed without using a work box and other purpose built siding trim. If you only have wood sheathing under the siding and not a stud, it could be less secure, but that would go for using a work box as well. The only issue I had was that it didn’t match my Dutch lap siding. As far as I know, they only offer this one variation as opposed to the multiple sizes for lap siding. They also didn’t list the dimensions of the siding fitment, just the over all size. The other ones gave the dimensions of the various lap designs. I took a chance and bought it anyways. Because it lacked this information and didn’t fit my siding as well as it should, I rated it less by one star. I did manage to make it work and used a homemade backer to fill the gap and used caulking to seal around it. However the design worked well and has made a very sturdy mount for a security light fixture. The built in work box is fairly shallow so that could be a issue for some.

Works very well.
This works perfectly for mounting a floodlight camera. This fits Dutch lap siding. I also, painted this to match the color of the light.I was able to drill through the siding, OSB board, and the wide side of 2x4 that was an upright for the roof truss with a 1/2 inch bit. I used the center knockout and ran the 14-2 Romex through. Two 2 1/2 inch exterior decking screws and the mount is rock solid. I would recommend this. I can't attest to the durability yet. My only complaint is that these should come in different colors from the factory.I will use this again when I mount a second camera. For what ever it is worth I cannot rotate these photos...damn Amazon

Mounting block for Dutch lap siding
The mounting block is an excellent option when adding a light fixture in the exterior of your house with siding already installed. I installed a motion detecting light above my garage door with minimal effort. Mounted the Arlington block with 2 screws, pulled the new wire into the new fixture, connected the wires, mounted the light and used white silicon caulk to deal the block to the siding.I highly recommend this rather than removing the siding to mount a nail on mounting block and trimming the old siding.
