Good all around, diving...as a back up
Right off i would rate this light in the 100/120 lumen range. Not all that bright even by good LED light standards. I do think its a great value for $20.Then i submit to you, you buy an LED light, not for brightness but for battery life. That said, this would make a good back up dive light. Get a brighter light that doesn't last along for your primary. But your looking at a $20 light, I don't think you are cave diving.I got this for my overland kit. That is I needed a rugged long lasting waterproof LED with a handle for overland/expedition driving. I like it enough to get a second one.

This one not waterproof at all...........
Fine as a flashlight, but as a dive light,no way. There is a gap where the head screws on and light comes out from that gap (could not possibly be waterproof because of that). It is also not an even gap (not cross-threaded though it looks that way)cranking it down hard so it goes down further with a wrench may get the seal to work but these are plastic threads. It will almost assuredly strip the threads and ruin it. Would have given it a higher mark but bought it for its waterproof feature (not for diving but outdoor / rain use) and I won`t even test it as I know that will ruin it. I`ll probably try to triple up the o-ring see if that seals it. Nice flashlight with removable handle, pretty bright too.

I use it out of the water too
This is a very usable flash light for above water or under water. I bought it to use as a flash or lighting for my go pro underwater. I wanted to sink it to the bottom of a lake and see what was down there. It worked well even in algi infested waters. I also like the design. It's easy to hold, kinda like a gun, and the power buttun is right on the back. Also it floats! Simple and worth the money. If you want to see it action check it out on my youtube channel JRESHOW. heres a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkOlefxG7js

Nice and bright
This is a very bright light that we use on the boat. We haven't deliberately tested it for waterproofness if there is such a word. As with most waterproof flashlights, it takes two hands to turn it on by twisting the case. If I could turn it on with one hand, I would have given it five stars.

Waterproof but not good for snorkeling
I have tested this flashlight in my last visit to the Florida Keys where I planned to snorkeling at night. This flashlight is very well built, real waterproof but unfortunately it is not good for snorkeling where the bottom of the sea is over 10 ft. deep. The focus is very wide and does not reach the bottom of the sea as it should, reaching the sea bottom in a very weak way.If you plan to use it for scuba or snorkeling at night I should not recommend this flashlight.

Good Light
I mainly have only used the light in pools and I have been unable to go 100 meters down but at about 15 meters it works great lighting up a considerable amount more than my old flashlight. If you are going under and need something to light the way, this works if you are just going for fun. If you are a researcher though you might want something a little bigger. Great product thought.

Poor design
I took it out the first time for free diving and it leaked water into it, corroded the metal components and no longer works. I found the main issue to be that there is no switch or on/off button. Instead it turns on anytime you twist on the light. So, if you don't want it on all the time you need to have the body, batteries and light separated which was a pain when walking down to the water with all of my other gear. It's possible that I didn't screw the light on tight enough, but thought I did. Within a few minutes of being in the water it was leaking substantially. My friend was using a tovatec diving light which worked really well. I just ordered one and regret not paying 20 dollars more for a quality light the first time around.

great for the price
Great for the price. It was as bright as I needed it to be in clear water. Im writing this review about a year after last using it but I recall that it DOES float. I added a wrist strap.
