Q: Can it be used for fuel pressure? Gasoline?

I believe it could, however in most cases the pressure of a fuel system is more than 5 psi and the gauge would be damaged if over pressurized.There are 15 psi fuel gauges for carb or TBI systems, and 60 or 100 psi gauges for EFI.

Q: Is the outer diameter of the thread mount 3/8 ?

No. these units are 1/4 inch npt (national pipe thread) which does nor correspond to "normal sizing". The outside diameter of 1/4 inch npt is .540 thousands or larger than half inch. 1/8 npt would be closer to 3/8 inch at .405 thousands. Keep in mind npt threads are all tapered and have a pitch.

Q: Is there any indication the gauge is calibrated? For a pressure test, is there a way to indicate the starting point of the test?

the gauge is calibrated to measure pressures of zero to five psig. the starting point is "zero" the resting place of the dial when no pressure is applied. The markings between the numbers indicate fractions of a psog appears to be in tenths.
