Yes, it looks small when it arrives, but I was able to fit 2 pants, 2 shorts, 3 T-shirts, 2 polos, 8 underwear and 8 socks in the bag and there was still room in the front compartment. Wanted something to put my 17" laptop in when traveling that would roll and hold other supplies. Probably didn't need the backpack option, but it works fine. My only complaint is that the back section where the laptop goes doesn't open all the way. The zippers don't open it far enough and you have to hold it open to put things in there. But it has held up well for about 4 trips now.
