Does the lid lock open?

The screw lid locks very securely and then you pop the top to drink and snap it back closed. It really does stay hot and I love these.

No matter where I start screwing the lid on, it ends up with the mouthpiece only an inch from the handle. Any fix for that?

I always just started screwing mine with the mouth piece where I wanted it to end up.
