Parker Sonnet Fountain Pen | Red Lacquer with Gold Trim | Medium Nib | Gift Box

I wasn’t expecting to be quite this taken with a pen, but the Parker Sonnet has turned out to be absolutely perfect for me. I chose the fine nib this time — all my previous fountain pens have had medium nibs, and I’d never quite been satisfied. Because I keep a daily journal and need to write small, I decided to experiment. I’m glad I did. The fine nib on this pen is superb. The ink flows beautifully: smooth, even, and effortless. It’s as fluid as a good rollerball, but with that familiar fountain-pen softness and flexibility that makes writing feel almost expressive. In many ways, this is the best fountain pen I’ve ever used. I went for the silver version with gold trim, mainly because it was on a pre–Black Friday offer. The saving was substantial, but the quality has exceeded anything I expected at the price. Every now and then you buy something that’s such a pleasure to use that it actually makes you want to sit down and write. This is one of those things. Each morning, before I start my quiet time — journalling, reading, walking — I genuinely look forward to putting pen to paper. That’s not an exaggeration; it’s simply the joy of finding a tool that feels just right. Of course, no pen will suit everyone. But this one suits me perfectly.

Bought for my wife’s work, as writing with a decent fountain pen makes it so easy. And this pen does precisely this. Her opinion is that the pen flows beautifully, smoothly, allowing for a considerable lack of writing hardship, making her day all the better. She loves it, well please with the style and weight. Looks gorgeous. I watched her writing and, it looks effortless and the letters are formed elegantly.

There very good pens

This is a very nice pen, beautifully finished and a smooth nib and comfortable to write with and not too heavy. It is after all, a Parker. My only criticism is that the medium nib in mine is slightly too wet and any writing leaves marks on the reverse side of the page which I tend to dislike. Of course an alternative ink other than Parker’s might resolve the problem or switching to a fine nib.

I have used Parker fountain pens for 50 years and have never encountered any problems. However, several reviewers complained about the performance of the pen's nib, which gave me serious pause for thought. Obviously, I eventually took the plunge, and I am so glad that I did. From the outset, the pen performed flawlessly, which is actually unusual; in my experience, even good pens need time to bed in as the nib gets used to the user, or the user gets used to the nib. Not so with this pen; perfect from the outset. Perhaps it was a happy combination - Jacques Herbin bottled ink providing the ammunition. The pen's visual appeal will obviously depend upon individual taste, and I usually opt for the faithful black and gold, but, for some reason, this red version caught my eye and, in the flesh, I think its a real looker. Shorter than my Waterman Expert, and more regular (torpedo) shaped than the Waterman's 'Perfecto' cigar shape, which I love, I still immediately felt at home with it. At a reduced £97, it's still not cheap (yes; I know many pens cost hundreds, & some thousands) which, for many will make buying it a financial gamble (me included!), but for me it is a gamble that paid off - I'm delighted with the purchase and am now looking for any excuse to put (this) pen to paper...

The pen is stunning to look at, however if you leave it more than 15 mins then the ink completely dries in the nib and makes it unusable! I would return, but since it was a gift by the time we discovered it, it was too late to return! We have tried everything to stop this occurring using the instructions, and how we know how to clean, but nothing works... Value for money is non existent sadly!

Beautiful looking and quality fountain pen. Bought to use alongside another that has given (and is still giving) many years of excellent service.

It's a beautiful pen, with it's metal housing and gold nib. It's let down by writing performance. The nib glides across paper effortlessly, but it skips constantly and takes a while to start. There's only so many times you can re-cross Ts and re-dot Is until you give up. This was my first foray into "fountain pens that cost more than £1 and don't come in a pack of 10", but I ended up falling back on my previous pen because it writes better. It's a nice conversation starter, it looks great, and if you only need a fancy pen to sign your name on documents it should work fine. If you want something you can rely on for journals, or schoolwork, you'll want something else. Or maybe mine was just defective idk

Ho acquistato questa stilografica per fare un regalo. E’ arrivata perfettamente imballata con una confezione di cartone all’interno della quale c’era la penna contenuta nell’astuccio. Nell’astuccio erano contenute anche due cartucce di inchiostro. Tutto perfetto

Gutes Eigengewicht. Die Kappe schließt und öffnet mit einem befriedigenden Feedback. Das Gewinde quietscht leider. Die beigelegten Patronen waren leider komplett durchgetrocknet und nicht nutzbar. Parker hat eigene Patronen und kann keine Standardpatronen nutzen. Aber es lag auch ein Konverter dabei. Das Fassungsvermögen ist nicht der Wahnsinn, aber es funktioniert. Die Spitze gleitet gut, hat aber deutliches Feedback Das wird bei mir leider kein Füller für unterwegs sein, da ich nicht die speziellen Patronen kaufen möchte und der Konverter aufgrund seines arg begrenzten Volumens eigentlich immer in Reichweite eines Tintenfasses sein muss.

La penna è stata regalata ad un neo laureato e visto che è il regalo di più persone e vista la difficoltà di organizzazione si è optato per l online, menomale. La penna è stilografica, di colore nero opaco con inserti colore oro sul tappo e sul corpo. Arriva nella sua comoda scatola già pronta per il regalo, abbiamo solo aggiunto una busta adeguata alla situazione e ovviamente il biglietto di auguri. Purtroppo non è stato possibile appurarne il funzionamento subito poiché non scrive, si devono inserire le ricariche di inchiostro prima. Anche qui nota positiva poiché ce ne sono ben due e la possibilità di trovare le ricariche è molto facile. La punta è veramente molto fine, l' inchiostro scorre continuo esenza punti di interruzione e non si secca la punta se il tappo è chiuso. Il festeggiato è rimasto molto contento e potrà firmarci un assegno di ringraziamento. 😂 🚦PRO E CONTRO🚦 Pro: due ricariche di inchiostro, spessore della punta molto fine.
