An excellent basic guide to learning about your seven Chakra.
Even though I have been practicing Reiki for a long time I was not interested in the ancient Indian Chakras until recently. I purchased this 332 page soft cover (The complete idiot’s guide to Chakras by Betsy Rippentrop and Eve Adamson) book on Amazon for a bargain price. I figured since Reiki is about energy healing I thought combining it with Chakras principles would make a good combination.I found this book to be an excellent guide to learning about the role Chakras play in health and wellness. These seven energy wheels help to keep the body, mind and spirit healthy and balanced. I have read numerous books in this series (The complete idiot’s guide to) and their formula makes for easy reading and learning of the material. In spite of the name (complete idiot’s guide) the subject is treated in depth. Like other books in this series the text is organized into five parts covering every aspect of the topic.Part one is all “about the Chakras.” Part two explains he “dynamics of Chakra force.” Part three goes into detail on how to “know your chakras: bottoms up.” Part four covers how understanding Chakras makes you feel better. Part five focuses on how to “relax, release, restore and renew” using the Chakra. This book also combines the benefits of doing the Yoga (asanas) postures with energizing the Chakras.I found this book to be very interesting and informative on the subject of Chakras. If you are interested in learning about Chakras in a simple, clear and objective way you may want to check out this excellent book.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Chair/Seated Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga for seniors and the physically challenged).

Really Good Guide to Chakras for Anyone
I am not always a believer in the "Idiots" or "Dummies" guides on serious subjects such as this, ultimately it seems contradictory to even publish a guide with a title like this...but....regardless...the authors are genuine people with interest in this subject matter, willing to enlighten the rest of us, trying their best to put transcendental/spiritual matters into simplistic, easy to read terms. I guarantee even a skeptic or nonbeliever can come away with an understanding of all (most) of the concepts regarding chakras, in relation to yoga, or prana/chi. Most make sense in psychological terms regardless of whether you subscribe to the spiritual beliefs as well. Either way -- it is interesting, well-written, and you will learn something regardless of your previous beliefs.

I will admit I like both the Idiot guides and Dummies books and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Chakras is no exception. The book is written very simply for just about everyone beginner or advanced will benefit from reading this book. I find this is also useful reference guide for me to refer to and use. There are plenty of yoga and chakra meditations throughout the book. I found this book was also a great learning tool. It helped me understand yoga at deeper level. There is also a real nice reading list for further study.

Stupid title, great book!
I teach Reiki and wanted more in depth knowledge about the chakras. This is THE book! Easy to read, it is full of information, history, exercises, diagrams, etc. -- all designed to help you explore your own journey into the chakras. I plan on leading my class through some of the specific exercises, today, and know that they will enjoy the meditations.I originally ordered this on Kindle, but now want another hard copy that is easier to show to the class. You will not be disappointed with this book.

Liked it, but too much Yoga information for me.
I liked the information regarding the Chakras, however and I know if your into Yoga you would probable love it. Alot of information on Yoga poses, etc. I do Tai'chi, Qigong and Reiki and would have liked to have seen some other information on the chakras and energy work besides Yoga.

Wonderful book! Very easy to understand
Wonderful book! Very easy to understand. I'm new to this so this gave a step by step understanding chakras in lamens terms while still allowing you to have your own spirituality while learning about chakras. My 14 year old daughter and I are learning at the same time and the book is now going to be our 'bible' since its so clear on instructions and enlightment of chakras.

Easy reading
I highly recommend this book to anyone that is just learning about our internal energy system as well as vets. It's an easy read, easy to understand, and has lots of great exercises to open those energy points that may be weak or blocked. It's a great insight as to how we become ill and into our own behavior that indicates our energy distortions and what we can do to fix it.

Easy to Understand
I love this book because it is the only book that I have found where everything is explained in basic ways so you can understand it before you move on to the advanced books that deal with the Chakras. It even tells about the history of the Chakras. I have never found a book that explained so much about the Chakras. I would recommend this book to those who are just learning the Chakras and those who are advanced in the subject.
