Concerned about the Silicone. Does the Silicone leach when used for hot drinks?

The only time I've ever heard of anything leeching from Silicone is at over 300F - when submerged in fat. So unless you are drinking 300F oil or fat - silicone is the optimal material for heat resisting gaskets.
