All Star Pro Lace On Wrist Guard with Strap

My son and another catcher on his team have the same mitt, so I was looking for a way to make my son's stand out from the other kid's without it being permanent. My son has the All Star catcher's gear, so this was the perfect solution. We love All Star products! This is excellent quality just like the rest of their stuff. And this added protection and connection with the mitt while making it easy for the boys to tell which mitt was whose. They're 10U so gloves and mitts just get thrown around. The youth one fit my son great. He's 4'7" and 75lb with skinny wrists. I cut some of the extra length off of the velcro and used a lighter to burn the ends like another review suggested. Still plenty left for growth. I did not use a lacing tool, and this was still easy to put on after watching a video on YouTube and looking at the photos on here. I did have to take it back off and move it slightly, and removal was not difficult at all. Tip - cut the ends of the lace to a point. It comes blunt, and it's harder to get that started in the holes and under existing laces. I used a small eye glass repair screw driver to push the lace through and tweezers to grab and pull. Easy peasy.

I’m very happy with this wrist guard. The quality is much better than I expected. It feels durable, well-padded, and provides excellent protection without being uncomfortable. The adjustable strap keeps it securely in place, and it fits perfectly.

I have bought these for my last few catchers gloves and they work great. They provide great protection to the wrist and arm.

In summary, I would recommend this addition to your catcher's mitt for any catcher. However, there are some specific hacks I would also recommend to avoid some of the concerns from this product. However, I recommend this product more to add stability of the mitt on the hand/arm vs providing any significant protection. The Details My son is a high school catcher. I got him this wrist guard as he had complained that he wanted more secure connection of his mitt on his wrist. I tried to tighten the actual wrist strap of the mitt itself, but he wears his mitt with the bottom part of his palm sticking out the bottom slightly, and I couldn't get it any tighter. This product seemed like it would help, so we tried it out. It worked GREAT! It was not overly hard to attach to the mitt (however there were no instructions... I ended up threading it on as in the attached pictures... providing those for your help). It took maybe 5-6 minutes. I will point out that the Velcro wrist strap was a bit long for him, and given the negative feedback about this velcro, I went ahead and cut it to the exact size and then burnt (melted) the cut edge. You can see that in the picture too. I did this so that the extra would not cause the velcro to pull away from the wrist (increasing the dirt and wear on that velcro, which would then result in it losing its "stick"). He has been using it for a season now, and he confirms that the mitt is MUCH more securely on his wrist/hand. He also has not noted any weakening of the hold of the velcro. He doesn't have one of these on his backup mitt, but he has now asked for one. He has blocked a few pitches where the ball hit is wrist, and he said it helped a little... but there isn't much padding there. He likes it more for the stability it brings. Some Suggestions: * I wish they would have included some instructions on how to specifically thread on the wrist strap to the mitt. However the method I used has been very secure all season. * I would strongly advocate trimming the velcro to fit your player's wrist exactly. This should avoid the same issues others complain about in these comments. while you probably don't need to burn/melt the edge of the velcro, I did. I practiced on the piece I trimmed off first (you don't need to melt it much, just enough so it won't fray/split). I hope this helps. I am going to go now and buy another for my son's backup mitt.

I bought this for my son, and he loves it. The quality is top-notch — very durable and well-made, just what you’d expect from All-Star gear. It laces right onto his glove perfectly and gives his wrist great protection without getting in the way or feeling bulky. The strap makes it easy to adjust for a snug, comfortable fit, and he says it feels really secure during games. It gives me peace of mind knowing his wrist is protected, especially with all the catching he does. Definitely a great investment for any serious player. Highly recommend

Works so well, we ordered two. This wrist guard has been a literal lifesaver for my sons arem. He is a high school catcher and loves this guard. It is a bit of a challenge to get on, but once it stays in place and does its job. He likes how it also helps hold his glove in place on wild pitches and tips. We ordered a second one for his backup glove. The only complaint is the length of the Velcro wrist strap. We cut it to fit and melted the edge with a lighter to keep it from fraying or snagging his jersey.

High quality wrist guard by all star. My son previously used the mineable evoshield slip on guard until he saw his catching instructor using this one. It’s simple to attach to an existing glove and super convienent because it’s always attached. No more searching his bag for his wrist guard. Velcro makes it easy to use and comfortable. Been using it for a year and have certainly got our moneys worth out of it. Great product.
