Other reviewers are right when they talk about how stunning the photos are on these cards. Beautiful photography and a great selection of animals. We're pretty much focused on the animals at our local zoo right now (tiger, elephant, etc.), but this will be a nice learning tool for quite some time. The cards are a nice glossy stock material but I agree that if you plan to leave your baby with them unattended, a quick laminating job would be your best bet to keep them in tip top shape. Another perk is the information listed on the back of each card. Sometimes I get tired of hearing myself talk and run out of topics to discuss in my one-sided conversations. Having the talking points on the back of these cards gives me more to say and I find it educational as well.

My son had these cards from 6 months old, where he would just tip them out of the box and play with them, at 1 year he was interested in the pictures and started making animal sounds. Now at 20 months he is naming the animals - and my 5 year old is interested in hearing and reading some of the facts on the back of the cards! The photographs are lovely, and I've learned a thing or two as well! I purchased these for my 18 month old nephew for Christmas and he is loving them! A great gift for a girl or boy, from babyhood up to school age.

Baby Einstein creation came out over 21 years ago. It originally on VHS and it was not owned by Disney. They were amazing, my daughter loved them. I had these flashcards for my daughter and she learned her animals off of these card. Marisa was maybe 15 months and said dinosaur. I have it on video. I am now going to be taking care of a 16 month old boy and was trying to describe these to her but couldn't remember the name. I found the last set of flashcards available her on Amazon. The original set I had was very sturdy and I'm sure these will not be but I am so excited to have found them. I do have about 6 of the Disney Baby Einstein dvd's which I am so glad I kept. Old school is best.

I purchased these because I was looking for something with pictures of real animals, not cartoonish versions. As other reviewers have mentioned, the pictures are beautiful. You can start earlier with these by introducing one animal every few days and teaching the name and sound the animal makes. Great for familiarizing with animals so when they go for that first zoo trip they can recognize some animals. The only con is that the cards aren't very thick. If you plan on always holding them and not allowing your child to, this won't be an issue. Realistically, these are large cards and your kid will be excited to grab and touch the pictures...and end up bending and creasing them.

Awesome very clear photographs of different animals. My son loved these when he was about 12-24 months. He did like to put them in his mouth and bend them quite a bit so they looked a little rough after a little while. I also liked how there was a blank card included and we used this to make our own card with a picture of the family pets on it.

The cards have nice pictures of animals on them but my 1-yr old granddaughter is kind of bored by this set. Maybe she'll grow into more interest for them. I have a set of Language Discovery cards that she loves but the animal set she wants me to hurry through them. Also there were three duplicate cards in my set - a horse, caterpillar and bear. She plays with those separately. And the extra blank cards in the set we use to put stickers on. Not my favorite set of cards.

My son (9 months) and I would look at these all the time! He loved looking at all the pictures. I'd ask him to find certain animals and he would! He's three now, so these cards have taken a beating and don't get much use any longer, but I just bought a new set for my new baby, so he can have as much fun as my older son.

A mí bebé de 1 ano no le intersaron las cartas con fotos de animales. Creo que puede ser mejor para ninos mayores de 1 ano y medio.

This is perfect, exactly what I was looking for. I desired real animals not cartoon animals in an effort to educate my 9 month old. Until we finally found these flash cards I was showing her pictures on the computer using our big screen tv. Putting up 2-4 options and asking her which was the cat etc.These flash cards are quite durable and easy to hold. She is able to pick up the card with the animal on it. Glossy finish makes it nice and smooth. Lots of animals pictured. :)

We had these years ago for our older kids and these were a "repurchase" as the older set was literally used up. Our youngest son, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, really loves these cards. They are beautiful and educational, and please his visual sense. :) Thank you!
