Someone in the comments said the air flap that came with it (2 of them) were either too small or too large, then the original. I decided to use the new larger one, I figured newer technology maybe they knew more than they did 25 years ago when this tiller was purchased. So, I used the larger one and it worked just fine. started up on the first pull. And to think I almost threw away the whole tiller after cleaning the old carburetor for 4 hours and having no luck. It took me 2 minutes to put the flap on and another 5 to mount it. I have no mechanical experience at all. Its amazing after all the effort I put in to trying to fix the old one and then just paying $13 to have this one overnighted and installed and working in under 10 minutes blew my mind. Thank you amazon and whoever built this carb. (i could scroll up and find out but meh, your looking at this so you know the one I am talking about.) Wow 25 year old tiller like brand new woo! I know its just a tiller but a bit of sentimental value, I grew up helping my dad use it and now its mine and I hope to use it for another 25 years.

I was concerned about this replacement because the part numbers did not cross-reference with the carb I needed for my Briggs and Stratton 8HP engine. But the pictures looked like the same bolt patterns and throat sizes, so I thought I'd try it because the price was much lower than the online parts dealers. I put it on in less than an hour and I'm slow. It fit perfectly and included all of the gaskets and necessary parts to install. Best of all, it started almost immediately and has been working great ever since. It was much easier than trying to rebuild the original carb for me, too.

Great replacemen on my 3750 w briggs and stratton generator

Several years ago my mom left ethanol gas in her tiller over winter. By spring there was no cranking it, so she bought another that was smaller. By the time I did surgery on this one a few years later, the fuel tank was nearly full of water and the carb was destroyed. The local small engines parts place didn't havr Troy Bilt parts, but they had all the manuals and gave me a part number. Ordered It on Amazon. It was the wrong carb, but was right enough to work. Lo and behold, the tiller sat out over this past winter with half a tank of ethanol gas. Again, the gardening season stated with a tiller that wouldn't. After draining about 3 cups of water from the fuel tank, all attempts to clean the cheap replacement carb failed. I still had the original carb, and ordered this one via the part number stamped on the original. As expected, ordering based on the correct part number yielded a carb almost identical to the original. The only issue is that the spacer block was made to seal to the carb via an o ring and the throat of this carb was not honed out to fit the spacer's sleeve. This meant the spacer block had to be installed backwards and I had to make a second gasket. In retrospect, I should have shelled out a couple more bucks to get the carb that came with a shutoff valve. Guess I'll do that after mom destroys this one.
