You can put some Saran Wrap on top of the tray to keep the moisture in. When you see the sprouts start coming up remove the wrap and remove from the heat pad as the sprouts can become too tall and leggy. You will have to sun shield it. Always water from bottom. Don't get plant wet, only roots. But yes these will germinate from the ground.
