This is a great expansion to the original game (definitely get the base game first). It adds more roles and really helps build the game out, making it even more fun to play. It has that classic “traitor”/Werewolf-style feel where you’re constantly trying to figure out who you can trust, which keeps everyone engaged. Every round feels different, and it’s always a good time with a group. Overall, this is a fun add-on that brings more strategy and replay value to the game. I would definitely recommend it if you already enjoy the original!

This game is a blast! It is one of my alltime favorite games for a gettogether. It's great because: *It's basically all ages. We play with about ages 8-93. *Rounds are quick (5 mins) so it's easy for people to pop in and out of the game throughout the night as they socialize or eat/make food or whatever. There is no long time commitment to playing. *It's so much fun. Doesn't matter if you know the group well or you don't - it adds elements of challenge to the game. So playing with coworkers or strangers or family - the game is always different. *The app walks you through each round so people don't need to really understand all the rules before starting. They just need to be able to follow directions. You can startup a game or add new players with only a few minute's explanation. *It's in a small box. It's easy to take with you. *It's expandable with the other games so you can have variety and add players. We also have Vampire, but we always find ourselves coming back to the original Werewolf version unless we need to add in players and need the expansion. Suggestion: Add some extra white noise like rain sounds or something during the eyes-closed portion and encourage people to not sit perfectly still so that no one gives away clues by hearing movement from others during their turn. This is a GREAT gift or party favor you can leave with a host. Toss it in your bag when you travel. I recommend it for anyone about 12 to 60 as a gift. (And younger and older people can join in the games too. But I probably wouldn't give it to an 8yr old as their gift unless I know they played before.)

Big fan of this game, great for small parties or get togethers. My whole family loves this game, even my 7 year old nephew who begs to play every time we get together. Easy to play because each round is quite short. Well made cards, works seamlessly with the phone app. Great gift for secret santa or white elephant

We wanted to get the Ultimate Werewolf, but since it requires so many players and is a little more complex, we decided to start with this one and see how we (2 adults-ages 60 & 40 and 2 teens-ages 17 & 15) liked it. Just us four have played this about a dozen times. Gameplay is super quick! You deal the cards appropriately, close your eyes & do your actions, open your eyes and try to figure out who everyone is and who to kill. Doing the game itself-maybe 5 minutes...the arguing, accusing, lying, and ultimate choosing the one to die can take another 5 minutes! The more outgoing the people are, the better, but even with the ones who are more reserved-this game seems to bring them out of their shell. Four Players is the absolute minimum # of players you should really have to play and it's way more fun if you add in just one or two more. When my daughter & her husband came down from out of state and played with us, it was like breathing life into the game all over! They became instantly addicted and played it many times with us. They went home and began watching videos and researching the game (it's how we found out about the app.). I'm pretty sure they will spread this addictive game to others... GET THE APP- My son always narrates (He does this while playing the game, with his eyes closed-he memorized everything before we began playing the game-he's an exception, most people will otherwise need someone to sit out of the game and be the moderator.). I just found out that there is an app that will narrate for you and I highly suggest you get it. Otherwise someone will have to: narrate, with their eyes closed, remembering all roles/rules/&order they go in, giving enough time for player's actions, and not moving while talking or it gives away who they are OR someone will have to sit out and be the moderator. The app is available for your phone/tablet or now they also have one you can use from your pc on their website: [...] FAVORITE CHARACTERS: We've come to really like some of the characters and play them more often. Troublemaker-boy this one really adds some drama to the game. Drunk, Seer, Insomniac, and Robber. The Doppelganger adds a lot more time to the game play and I don't recommend it when you're first learning the game, but after you've played a lot, it definitely adds drama to the game. I'm buying the original Ultimate Werewolf game now...no there won't be big groups to play with all the time, but when there is-it will be the first to be played! I can pretty much guarantee that Ultimate Vampire is in our future as well... CON-My one con is that after a dozen plays the cards are starting to fade & lift around the edges. Having a card marked in ANY way in this game would ruin the entire game! I'm purchasing sleeves to protect them before damage continues-I highly suggest that if you get & like this game that you do the same! ***UPDATE: I purchased Mayday Game Card Sleeves 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" (100 Pack) for $4.79 thru Amazon for the cards. They fit perfectly with just a smidge of plastic extra at the top! Of course we're getting the other werewolf/vampire games and now I can protect them from the very beginning. The manufacture should really either laminate the cards, supply sleeves (they are so inexpensive) or recommend sleeves!

Let's just put it this way. When my family first received ONUW on Christmas morning 2019, we opened the box and read the instructions around 4pm, then stayed up until 2 in the morning playing it. Throughout the following week, we played for probably 6 hours every single night. We've since had 4 years of fun and unforgettable memories. We cannot get enough of it. I simply think it is the best game ever invented--the ultimate strategy, deduction, lying, manipulation, and hilarious extravaganza. I absolutely love the app--so that everyone can play and no one has to be a narrator. I truly admire the inclusion aspect--that everyone can have a unique role and task to play (no one has to be a plain, old villager). And I think the fact that it is just one night is frankly genius. It makes it so much faster to play rounds (as opposed to other mafia-style games) and puts less pressure on being a werewolf. I have friends who won't play other social deduction and bluffing games because it stresses them too greatly, but they will play ONUW because the rounds are so short and, of course, there's always the possibility that their card can be swapped! I think it's just brilliant. Every round is different. Every round calls for a new strategy. We can play hundreds of times because there are millions of possibilities for how the game can go! We've bought all the expansion packs, and we truly enjoy trying all the different combinations we can. I play a lot of games, but this one is by far my favorite. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

On a subsequent playthrough with a smaller group, with experienced players consisting only of my spouse and me, the lack of familiarity with the game posed difficulties. Being averse to lying, my go-to strategy of remaining silent became ineffective. The new players required instruction and examples, leaving me struggling and feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable. Additionally, the game's learning curve can be steep due to the numerous characters with specific roles that need to be remembered. This complexity can initially overwhelm players and may require some patience and practice to fully grasp. In terms of quality and durability, One Night Ultimate Werewolf is commendable. The components are sturdy, ensuring the game will withstand numerous playthroughs. The design and aesthetics are visually appealing, immersing players in the game's atmosphere and enhancing the overall experience. It is important to note that One Night Ultimate Werewolf may not be suitable for people who are uncomfortable with lying or find it challenging. Unless they can participate in a larger group of at least six people, including several experienced players, the game's mechanics may prove frustrating for those who struggle with deception. Man, One Night Ultimate Werewolf is hands-down the most fun I’ve had at game night! This fast-paced social deduction game for 3-10 players is pure chaos and laughs. Everyone gets a secret role—like a sneaky Werewolf, crafty Troublemaker, or helpful Seer—and you’ve got one night and morning to figure out who’s the werewolf before the village votes. Each 10-minute round is wild, with no elimination, so everyone’s in on the bluffing and scheming every time. The free One Night app is a total game-changer—Eric Summerer’s narration is so immersive, guiding each role’s actions perfectly. I hooked my phone to a Bluetooth speaker, cranked the creepy background music, and it felt like we were in a legit werewolf village! The app’s timer keeps debates snappy, and no one has to sit out as a narrator, so we all get to play. The cards are high-quality, and it’s easy to learn, making it perfect for newbies or party pros. Pair it with a loud speaker and you’ve got an unforgettable night—highly recommend!

The one star review is not indicative. As you can see from the photo the backs of some of the cards have been badly printed. As this probably applies to a whole print run I'm sure if affects a number of people. I would expect this to be replaced. Bad prints happen ... and the product is excellent otherwise.

Wonderful part of the FULL game. The original game had about 5 main games and 1 "bonus roles" set too. This was just one of a few that I first got as the initial game from AGES ago does not seem to exist anymore (and the original game had 2-3 sets in its box too)

It’s a fun enjoyable game for 3 to 5 people would recommend for classrooms or big family events around 12 people is a good sweet spot number.

This kinda of special sleeves are expensive and rare in Canada, might as well buy the 2nd copy if the cards worn out.
