Tried and true. Very long term reliable.
I replaced a unit that was installed in my home when we first moved in. The original had just worn out over time and still worked sporadically. This unit was the exact replacement and worked perfectly. I guess that is a testament to the quality of this brand: finding the exact same unit in stock and highly rated over 25 years after you bought your first one. Definitely installable by the consumer, but you should be somewhat knowledgeable in electronics...the manual is not very user friendly.

this was a replacement for a old LEF-10 intercom. was exactly the same as the old unit.

stop working after a month
it won't lit up to identify the location where someone is buzzing, can't hear through the intercom. I just called customer service at Zalmar and someone name Nessy said to call back in 30 minutes to speak with a tech.I will improve my review if/when I get someone in technical support who can help us.
