Will it come back year after year?** A: It’s supposed to be an annual. However, I have some other annual vines that drop seeds and sprout everywhere. I didn’t plant these last year, so I can’t be sure. **Q: Can you grow them in hanging baskets outside on the patio** A: You can grow it in a hanging basket, but perhaps it will trail on the floor as the vine grows vigorously. I have a 3-year old Thunbergia in a planter with a 5-foot high vertical trellis for support. It has formed a clump at the top despite occasional pruning. It shoots tendrils in all directions. I bought it from a local nursery as I had no luck with seeds. **Q: should seeds be soaked before planting?** A: I live in The Valley in California and it was too hot. Mine did not make it. Neither did a plant. **Q: is it too late to plant thunbegia in Missouri for headstart next year?** A: No. You can sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the average last winter frost. I believe Missouri average last frost is around mid April to mid May. You can use a heated germination tray, available on Amazon etc. to ensure positive results. Germination may take about 10 days to 3 weeks.
