Outdoor Junior No. 07 Stainless Steel Folding Knife with Safety Rounded Tip, Integrated Whistle, Made in France

Bought this for my 4yr old and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had pocket knives my entire life and I had been itching to give/buy my son a knife. Whilst searching for whistles for outdoor activities/safety I came across this. I did buy a regular whistle “WE Titanium Keychain Whistle” also amazing. This knife is wonderful all around. The craftsmanship and function of this knife is just wonderful. All proper thought went into what would be perfect for children. The blunt, un-sharpened tip is almost fool proof. I purposely (DO NOT TRY) attempted to “stab/poke” my finger to see how aggressive I could be “on accident” and I did not manage to cut myself. The locking collar is such a wonderful upgrade for a child’s knife. This is not ment to undo rigorous abuse in the field. It is meant to teach a kid how to properly use a tool & this company provided probably the best possible learning device for children to safely and properly learn how to be come sufficient with a daily but also potential life saving tool. Thank you for providing this to the market. Honestly might get one for me and momma also. The whistle is an added bonus. What a great way to incorporate another potential life saving/communication tool.

Bought it a few years back and the kid loves it. Like all ambitious 8 year olds she went straight to sharpening a stick in the hopes of spearfishing (Still hopeful). The blade lock is great and doesn't allow it to collapse in use. It's sharper than it looks but has the rounded tip. Perfect for training them knife safety and even though she has knocked herself a few times it does not go very deep and it's nothing a bandaid can't fix. My wife made a little paracord lanyard for it and my daughter takes it everywhere with her when we are in the woods.

I purchased the red and black version thinking it would be a good first knife for my 8 year old. It was until about 3 months after when he needed to use the knife tip for something and for obvious reasons couldn’t. This knife is a good size. Functions well: Blade is easily opened and stiff enough and locks works as it should. Colors provide a cool look for a young kiddo. Whistle was a nice fun addition. Opinel provides good value for money in general. If I were re-do this I would’ve just went straight to a standard knife. I ended up sharpening the tip so he could use the full edge.

Nice Opinel knife. I like the rubberized handle and built-in whistle. Purchased for my 8 year old cub scout for his whittling chip. Nice that it doesn't have a sharp tip. He did have some trouble manipulating the locking ring, though. Will have to work on that.

Great first knife for a young person. The addition of a whistle for emergencies is a great idea.

Got these for my kids to teach them knife safety. Proper supervision when your child has this is necessary (because it's a knife). I like that the tip is blunt this prevents unintentional pokes. This was a nice feature they added. The whistle actually works and can be quite loud, which is actually useful in emergency situations. The blade comes sharp and is good to use out of the 'box'. I recommend this knife as a first blade and to learn with or even as a backpacking/hiking blade just in general.

キッズ用との事ですがロック金具及び刃の出し入れが固いですね。 子供が使うには刃の先端が丸くていいのですが刃の出し入れが固すぎてかえって危ないです。

Excelente navaja. Filo más que adecuado y después de meses de uso se mantiene tal cual. La punta roma hace que sea una excelente opción para niños. Peso ligero, y equilibrado para su manejo. Mi hija la está disfrutando y se ha vuelto imprescindible en sus salidas al monte.
