It says do not "steam sterilize", what about the sterilizing cycle in the dishwasher?

I actually never realized it said not to steam sterilize and have always used mine in the dishwasher on the sterilizing cycle! Would seem kind of pointless otherwise. Been doing it for a year and I've had no problems whatsoever. Still in the same shape as it was when I got it and no warping at all. 
***It may seem a little flimsy when you get it, but always stays latched and has held up through MANY washes, even on sterilizing cycle.
