So stinking happy I bought this!!!
Upon opening the box I was struck with the beauty of the wood. It's remarkable. It has a bright, sandy finish with streaks of greens, golds, purple and dark red. The precision of the lengths and fittings were perfect. After assembly (which was surprisingly simple) the headboard and platform were rock solid. Though the specifications state a weight limit of 600 lbs., I could see this bed frame holding much more. To illustrate, I'm over 300lbs and my puppy adds another 30lbs, and the structure doesn't make a sound while we're on it.There is a gap between mattress and headboard, which (luckily) I had a gap filler foam pillow to solve. I'd recommend purchasing one so you're pillows don't move while you sleep. In all, I'm very happy I made this purchase.

SOLID bed!
This bed is SOLID wood. I was not expecting it to be as heavy as it was! It looks great though. I love it and would totally buy it again. I was able to assemble it by myself with minimal assembly experience but would definitely be easier with two people!

Second bed from these guys
We also have a full size in the same model and when the time came to replace our queen bed frame it was an easy choice to get another. Construction is easy, and they knock together and knock apart again if necessary just as easily.

Great Beds for my grandkids
These beds work perfectly for the summer beach house. We put a coating on the wood and they were easy to assemble. I would recommend these beds.

Solid wood, made in USA, an affordable quality product
I got two XLtwin beds so that I can slide them together and use as a king bed if my guests prefer.I followed another reviewer's advice and stained and finished each piece before assembling, even the slats that should be hidden by the bedding, because you're going to see that when you make the bed. It turned out beautifully! Used a foam brush to apply the colored stain and wiped it off with a rag, very easy to do... just took a little while! I am very pleased.

Solid, Customizable
I love the solid, sensible construction of this bed frame. My better half was not thrilled with the country-casual look of the unfinished poplar though. She also felt the unfinished wood was insufficiently cat and kid proof. Bare wood does soak up stains and felt tip pen marks and such, and cats do like to sink their claws into it. Jetta, our senior product tester is shown checking out her latest accomodation in the photo. She loves to sharpen her claws on bare wood, but once it's varnished, she is uninterested. I was able to convince the lady of the house that with some dark walnut stain and a coat of good floor varnish, we could banish the country look in favor of a more finished faux walnut furniture appearance and make the result pretty attack resistant. She was convinced. We did the deed and she's pretty pleased as are the friends who've checked it out. It ain't walnut, but it's pretty OK.As to finishing it, stain and urethane the individual pieces. Don't try to do it after assembly. Watch out for the end grain that shows. Some of it needs to be sanded smooth. (Tops of the four uprights especially) Check how pieces fit together. They've beveled the edges of a lot of the pieces. This makes a lot of end-grain show. You need to make sure it gets stained. (On the ends of the slats of the headboard for instance.) For a dark stain I don't see any need for filler except on the end grain. I didn't bother filling the small areas of end grain that show in the joints. As a result they came out very dark. I don't think the affect is bad though. I used Behr dark walnut oil baed stain and it worked very well. Apply it liberally, give it a few minutes, wipe it pretty free of excess and come back about half an hour later and really rub it out with clean paper towels until the lighter grain areas pop. Don't rub against the grain. It can leave fibers embedded in the wood. Don't leave any excess anywhere, even where it won't show. It can take days to dry where it's as thick as a coat of paint. Wait 24 hours before varnishing. I used Minwax oil modified urethane varnish. This stuff is used for basketball courts and the like. It's tough, but it does have a yellowish tinge which makes it unsuitable for use on really light shades of wood. It's no problem on a dark finish though. I ended up satisfied with one fairly heavy coat. This is not the recommended approach and it won't give a really slick, smooth finish, but hey, this is not the kind of furniture that benfits much from that sort of effort. To get it to a point where it would benefit would take many hours of sanding and detailing. Stay away from glossy varnishes. A satin works best.

Fun to put together
Glad I bought this bed frame. I stained and finished it before assembling it. I am in my 70s and not especially agile, but I was able to put this together in one evening. So glad I stained and finished it first. I like the height of it with my comfy new foam mattress on it. Plus there is some wonderful space under it for my luggage, etc. Good purchase. Every part I needed was supplied and it fit together quite well.

Sturdy and Well Built
I ordered 2 twinXL beds and they came in a long narrow box with all of the hardware and clear instructions on how to put it together. The beds are elegant, very sturdy, and easy to put together. The surface of the wood is a bit rough and does need sanding and a coat of varnish or paint. My recommendation to the builders of these beds is to sand and varnish the surface before shipping them to your costumers. I do love a natural finish and would have preferred a natural varnish finish would have been done at the manufacturer’s facility because I do not like the smell of varnish lingering in my small apartment. On the other hand, the bed is strong and elegant and would not hesitate recommending it to others.

Great platform bedframe!!! Holding strong after a years use!!
Love these beds! It's been nearly a year since a ordered them (ordered 2), and they are still holding strong! They were easy to assemle, no creaking/squeeking with lots of options for finishing the wood. 10/10 product, would most definately buy again.I looked around for months before buying a platform bedframe as I didn't want something made of cheep materials that would break and these beds were the best that I found online and I am so happy I went with these!!!
