Size stated was 4x1x1....but it is more like 7 inches diameter. I had to cut down to fit my Cat's bowl...but usable for now.

Our pug ***HATES*** this thing. Like most dogs of her breed, she eats like she’s never eaten before and might never eat again. In doing so, we end up with a bloated, gassy little dog that you don’t want anywhere near you. Her eating has to be slowed down. Ice cube trays and muffin pans ended up in cacophonies of sounds and messes, so we moved to a bowl with nubs in the center. That kind of slowed her down, but she started taking tongefulls of crunchies, dumping them on the floor, then licking them up. The result was a feeding area slick with pug slime. A solution had to be found! Then a saw this on BuzzFeed, and thought “why not?”. First meal with this took her almost 20 minutes to finish. The cats were done before she was, so she couldn’t try and get to their food. She was visibly pug-mad. “That’s cruel” you’re thinking, then you must not have a pug, and I didn’t ask for your opinion. These are dogs who will continue to eat WHILE CHOKING! They are dogs who will eat LITERALLY to death if given the chance! THEY DON’T CHEW!So far this seems to work, and is easy to clean. It is silicone, so it resists sliding across the floor, but she does get it to move, as she is a violent eater. Time will tell as to durability.Addendum: being neon green makes it easy to find afterwards (again, violent eater).

This is too big for any of our bowls, which is totally on me for assuming it would work with our old dog's bigger bowls rather our puppy's new bowl. But since it doesn't have suction cups on the bottom like others I've bought, I will definitely say not to expect suction. Still, it works pretty well in a Lickimat-like function... definitely kept the pup occupied for a good amount of time when frozen with his food, some plain yogurt, etc.

It fits almost perfectly in the 3QT bowl, and it’s fairly sturdy to my surprise. There’s no suction on the bottom, it just lays on the bottom of the bowl. I have a boxer, and she eats science diet large breed sensitive stomach and skin, so the kibbles are larger and I do add a tablespoon of wet to her kibble. I notice she can’t get all the pieces after eating a meal, so I have to tip the remaining few pieces into the bowl for her to eat. She also is beginning to learn to lick them all to the edge of the bowl and gobble them up that way. It’s an okay slow feeder, it definitely slowed her down from being a vacuum. It’s nice that it’s an insert, since she has an elevated stand and it’s reasonably priced. But it could be better. Not the best, not the worst.

I purchased this mat knowing that I would have to alter the size. I always read reviews, and wouldn't have purchased - until I learned that you could cut this.I measured my Pup's standard, raised stainless bowl - both rim and bottom.Folded the mat over and drew a line with the bottom of the bowl. Worked great. I did trim the edges of the "fins" so it wasn't intrusive.Because of the bowl's design, there is a raised portion, so there is 0 suction (I also knew this as well).I can't speak to the suction - but I didn't have any expectation.Unfortunately, because my Pup is a Frenchie mix - she quickly gobbled her kibble because the "fins" were not deep enough.Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. It functioned as described, material seemed sturdy as I was cutting through it. It was just not a good fit for our needs!

Got this for my cat who eats way too fast. Cut down the ridges for her, but will need to trim the outside down to fit in her bowl (we have a Petsafe Healthy Pet Simply Feed 24 cup automatic feeder) properly. When left on the ground it does scoot around pretty easy.

I got my pup a similar food mat before that is great. I wanted another thinking this was the same but it’s not. There is nothing around the outer edges to hold the food from sliding out.

Everything is great about this product. However this is for a small dog, not medium or large breed.

Overall ok purchase, wish it came in more sizes to fit a regular dog dish. As we ended up cutting it to fit. It does slow our puppy down slightly, would be better if the spaces had taller dividers
