Great classic solution for cabinets; going to need some creativity to work on our drawers
After browsing and seeing plenty of "recommended" products that require lose-able magnetic "keys" or have weird springs or massive plastic pieces, I remembered the very simple ones my parents had. They worked great...don't they make those anymore? They do! This is them! They cost around a third of all the "new" kinds. They use actual screws instead of putting your faith in some adhesives. They might not work everywhere -- they work on our cabinets, but not our drawers. For the cabinets, I found them easy to install. I used the little cardstock/sticky template for the first cabinet -- I'd recommend that you do that, too, so you have a model of the intended installation. After that, I skipped the template and was just careful to test and mark the holes for the "arm" piece before I drilled. "Measure twice, cut once" thinking. Worked great every time -- no problems with our cabinets. Our drawers are old -- 1960's -- and these latches can't be easily installed on them. The rear panel of the drawer fills the entire vertical space that is cut out for sliding the drawer into. And, you have to take the drawer out to screw the piece into the "wall" side. Together, this means that when you install the small part onto the "wall", the drawer can't be slid back in. It may be possible for me to use a double-sided adhesive to stick the small piece in place while the drawer is still installed, but open. Or, I might be able to hand screw in the small piece, or find a tiny screw driver or use a screwdriver bit with pliers or something.

these work well for the daycare
I have installed many brands of safety hooks on cabinets and drawers in our daycare. these function as designed. easy to install, easy to operate. they can be installed using adhesive tape or screws depending on your preference. however, just like all the other plastic drawer hooks: if someone isn't aware they're installed, they might pull too hard on the drawer/cabinet, and the hook head will snap off. these are a bit more robust than many other brands we have tried, so they stand up better than most.

Gets the Job Done
I installed these on our lower kitchen cabinet doors. It took me over an hour total to install them on 9 doors, so be sure to give yourself ample time. It was tedious, but not difficult. They’re extremely effective. They immediately deterred our toddler from trying to open the cabinets, and she won’t be figuring out how to open them anytime soon, because our 7 year old is struggling to get them open.

Preferred over other models with springs
When it comes to these type of devices I prefer the KISS mentality. Unfortunately, these are becoming harder to find in big box stores due to "improved" revisions. These are well made and thick enough to withstand everyday use without cracking or breaking. Most of the "improved" versions all contain a spring in the design. One more thing to break and wear down and also a slightly bigger design footprint. TIP- if you live in an earthquake prone area, you can use these to secure the items in your cabinets! No worries of broken glassware or other items falling on the floor when mother nature decides to strike. (I have these installed EVERYWHERE) PROS -durable and thick; built to last -simple design -small footprint CONS -requires securing with (included) screws to mount; 4 total for each installation location. Hope you find this review helpful!

They suck
These kind of sucked. Our toddler could still open the drawer. Seriously it only takes a tiny bit of strength to pull it past the latch. If I could give negative stars I would. They weren’t good.

Very good product, screws , not tape, install on any kind of door or drawer
I did not want to get the self adhesive catches because I foresaw a problem with the tape coming loose and it is so easy to drill small holes to put in screws , which also allow you to adjust the position. I would never use tape. One fellow complained that there was no mention of screws but you can clearly see the two screws in the main picture. I assumed there would be screws and if there was tape they would tell you that part. Also another fellow complained that he had 3 drawers vertical with nothing to screw the latch part into ,except for the top drawer. You can easily attach the clip to the side of the cabinet and rotate the lever piece of plastic 90 degrees , so the whole operation is on the side of the drawer and not the top. I can find no objection at all and the ratings that were less than 5 are from people who did not know what to do. The instructions don't show you how to rotate the lever part but anyone with a brain can figure this out. I am sure there are youtube videos out there. Many complain that there was no tape , but tape is inferior. If you just want a crappy set up that the baby will tear apart as soon as they get some strength then use tape. You have to position is perfectly the first time. I want a good secure set up that will last for 2 children, one on the way and one that is very strong and she would rip the tape held catches out of the cabinets. she is already removing baseboards around the house that were nailed in place. I even use these latches on the inside corner doors for the lazy susan , these door have a hinge but the latcher still work fine. I rotated those ones also 90degrees so they latch from the side not the top.

Perfect.
Easy to install and useful. Find them a bit annoying, but kind of is the point!
