A: I'm guessing 6+ gallons as I didn't measure when filling with the water hose.

**Q: Can this fountain be placed on a pedestal in a pond?**

This is an electric fountain that does need to be plugged into an outlet.
With that being said no i would not suggest putting this fountain on a pedestal in a pond.
