Fire retardant is applied to furniture fabric and clothing ect and is a toxic chemical that causes neurological damage and cancer. It is “ forever “ chemical as it doesn’t degrade with time but accumulates in our bodies and environment. It is not asbestos. Many states have outlawed it or plan to soon. **Q: Does this have a removable cover for washing?** A: The Small 23"x23" in Taupe does not have a removable cover. We washed ours on gentle cycle with Woolite with no fab soft and dried on low. Came out all matted and ugly. **Q: Is the center circle (the part that the pet lies on) heavily padded or not?** A: I would not say it is medium padded. It is soft and has a spring to the touch when you push down. It has a stitch in the middle of the bed, that if I were to press my finger down into I would go straight to the floor, which doesn’t seem to have a negative effect for padding comfort, it is probably there to help the fabric from bunching up. If I press with a single finger any where else, I can press through the padding until I feel the hard floor, but with the distributed pressure of my hand it is cushiony and and I don’t get to the hard floor. After I remove my hand the cushion comes/springs right back up. My 40lb dog seems to really like the 30x30 bed! **Q: Where is the size chart? My pup is 15 pounds, what size should i get?** A: I ordered the size small which was supposed to be 23 x 23 and it actually measures 26 x 26. The lower inner circle measures 15 x 15.
