This is the first model I have ever built. It has a 4 out of five star difficulty level. I didn't know this to begin with, but I just took my time and enjoyed every hour that it took to build. I would advise that you have small pliers to hand as some of the pieces are very small. I found building this so satisfying that I'm just about to go and look for another one.

My 5-year-old godson is delighted with this, and so am I. Obviously he needs help building it (it's supposedly for ages 14+) but one-to-one guidance is all for the good. It's encouraging all sorts of motor and reasoning skills, and he's learning to importance of checking diagrams and delayed gratification, far better than if I'd bought him something easier and left him to do it himself. Some of the parts are very small and fiddly, and there are lots of ways to get it wrong, so it needs patience and repeated checking of the instructions, which have so far been excellent. I also requires care to ensure such tiny parts don't get lost, although the kit does include spares of most parts – possibly all of them, in fact (I'm not sure). Some of the parts need gentle sanding or wax lubrication before they will fit (wax and sandpaper are provided) but not excessively, so this hasn't been too frustrating – although a child on their own might find this annoying. Seeing a functioning combination lock actually come together has been as interesting for adults as well as kids. I expect I will be buying more kits form the ROKR catalogue in future.

The thin ply wood is precision cut to form the curved corners but are easy to break while and after building, especially the lid. The combination lock is quite tricky to assemble and also take at least a few practices to get used to the operation. The central main locked compartment roughly measures 3.3cm x 3.3cm x 3.5cm. The top circular unlocked compartment with shutter style door roughly measures 1cm deep x 3.3cm diameter. More like a toy than a practical treasure box, fragile lid corners and limited storage space. However, the design is very clever and the finish is very elegant if you manage to finish it. Instruction is pretty clear, just pay attention to all the details.

Arrived on time and looks interesting and exciting for teenagers and adults to put together. Very pleased with this purchase for my 14 year old grandson. Sure he will love it.

I loved the idea of this, but as it was a present I don't know what the quality is like and whether it is easy to use and assemble, was quite good quality from what I could tell great value for money

Not impressed . Very flimsy!

I recommend the puzzle box if you enjoy a challenge. It took my husband a little while to complete it, but he loves it. It tested his patience very well and it kept him out of my way. I like the look of the box, it is a nice trinket size. So he is very happy with it. A very happy customer. Thanks again Cheryl :-)

Esta es la primera maqueta que monto de este tipo. Las piezas vienen perfectamente cortadas a láser, y con unos acabados muy buenos. Eso sí, la madera es muy finita, y con piezas muy pequeñas, por lo que se agradece que incluyan algunas piezas de repuesto. Hay que tener mucho cuidado con las piezas pequeñas, ya que si te pasas haciendo fuerza para encajar, se pueden partir muy fácil. El cierre de seguridad es muy original y esta muy bien pensado, y funciona muy bien. El pequeño compartimento que trae, esta también muy bien diseñado, pudiendo guardar algún pequeño objeto en él. La tapa tiene otro pequeño compartimento que también se puede utilizar. Para su correcto montaje hay que seguir al pie de la letra el manual que trae, paso por paso. Muy importante ligar las piezas, sobre todo las que engranan unas con otras. Y también encerar aquellas piezas que te marca el manual, que suelen ser aquellas que friccionan o engranan unas con otras. En conclusión una excelente caja con cierre de seguridad, con un diseño muy bonito, y que te hará pasar unas horas entretenido en su construcción. Muy recomendable para regalar.
