The World of Tom Clancy's The Division

Worth every penny!!!!
If I am not reading I am playing video games. In fact Monday through Friday at around 10:00 A.M., I am playing with a buddy of mine from St. Louis, and we play one of four games, all of them in the Tom Clancy line of games from Ubisoft. My personal favorites of the four are Tom Clancy’s The Division and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. The graphics in this game are stunning, the action is plentiful, and the story is top-notch. It is the story that got my attention. A madman infects money with a version of smallpox and releases the money throughout America on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, where millions of Americans crowd the stores in search of the next big deal. Within days, millions are dead, and the President of the United States activates the Division Agents, a group of everyday citizens tasked with keeping the continuity of the law and order in America. The country descends into total anarchy, and there are various gangs vying for total domination. As an agent, it is your job to stop these gangs and their leaders. This book, The World of Tom Clancy’s The Division, gathers all of the pertinent information a gamer wants. It is richly detailed in art and lore and a must-have for any fan of the franchise. Not only is the backstory of the game given, but you get all of the details of the gangs and their various leaders. The best part is this book covers both Division games. As stated, this book is a must-have for fans of the game franchise, and it makes the perfect holiday gift for the Agent in your life!!!I give this book 5 very enthusiastic bookmarks out of 5!

Worth the money!
Excellent! First of I did not pay attention to the fact that this also came with a download code for issue one of the comic. Big plus for me since I'm missing that issue. The cloth poster is more of a felt like plastic type of poster. Still awesome. Wanna find a frame for it now. The box lights up! So sick! The book is where this shines. If you are a fan of the Division, this is for you! The book contains so much information your head will pop from all the greatness. From faction back stories to every NPC back story, this book has it all. Break down info on gear and ISAC. With so much more. This book is jam packed with art work too. I could not, as a fan of this series, be happier with this book! I recommend it to anyone who is fan, if you're a casual, this is a waste to you.

Designed for the Division Collector …
There are a handful of games in my life that just grab me and don’t let go. It started with Medal of Honor and Call of Duty (WWII line), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and now The Division. These games didn’t just allow me to play a game, but gave me a sense of touring existing environments with an added sense of realism. The Division/Division 2 took things up a notch with their unprecedented attention to replicating the cites of NYC and Washington DC to scale and implementing a disaster-themed scenario with a compelling story. The WORLD OF TOM CLANCY offers a hardcover book that gives you the story behind the game’s presentation of a devastated NYC and DC, but you’re paying for the packaging more than the book. It’s important to know what comprises this limited edition. A 160 page hardcover book and a folded cloth game poster are enclosed in a “book box” with a flip open top. The front of the “book box” has an orange cutout Division “bird” logo on the front. When you flip the top of the box to access the book, the orange logo lights up. I’m sure the fancy box and the fact that only 2500 copies of this product are available are reason for the higher cost … the book itself is not. Please note that the source of the light is a wire that somewhat protrudes when you flip the lid and kind of gives you the impression that pulling it will trigger the light on/off … it does not! Don’t tug on the object, you may ruin what you paid for (glad I figured this out before damaging my purchase). If you are a fan of the Division and know the story behind the game, the book offers nothing new. It is presented as a story with chapters dedicated to explaining the events and characters behind the game you are playing. While the majority of the book is dedicated to the initial Division game, it does manage to smoothly incorporate Division 2 and Washington DC as a continuation of the story. In reality, the entire story IS provided by both games, so you don’t need this book to understand the story, just play Division 1 first and simply pay attention to the reasons you’re completing those missions and tasked to collect all those comms and ECHOs. While it is certainly more fun to get the story through gameplay, you must be focused to do so (hard to follow a story when your main purpose of gameplay is to kill the NPCs and complete a mission/task). From this standpoint, the book works as it fills the gaps and removes the need to puzzle bits and pieces of the game together in order to fully understand what the game is all about. What the book does not do, unfortunately, is provide that encyclopedia-like resource that I want. I have a Zelda encyclopedia that provides explicit detail on every enemy, resource, weapon and anything else you can imagine from every edition of the game. I can sit down with that Zelda encyclopedia and reminisce playing the old Zelda games or just appreciate the gradual development of recurring things in the game over the last 30 years. This book misses the mark in that department. It tells the story and provides artwork and even some very basic profile pages of prominent characters (many that only cover half a page). You get the basics of the story and not much more. There is plenty of non-essential filler items that serve no purpose, like basic descriptions of weapons (LMG, SMG, etc.) with a single depiction of one example. There is no real in-depth explanation to enhance your gaming experience, just enough to let you understand what the game is about. The images in the book are artistic shots taken from gameplay and artist renderings of characters and events. What I would have liked to have seen in this book was a comprehensive encyclopedic presentation of all-things Division to this point (yes, it is understood that further developments in the game would render such a volume incomplete, but the first game is “finis” and they could have presented everything from that game in an encyclopedic manner. I’m sure a book with chapters dedicated to factions, weapons, gear/equipment, missions, locations, etc. with pictures would be well-received. Imagine seeing a presentation of every named NPC and a brief story behind them, along with details of locations, missions, etc.. Let’s face it, such a book would be for dedicated Division fans only … this book is for fans as well, it just doesn’t deliver much.If you are a fan of the game (as I am), this book may be worth the purchase from a collectible standpoint only. The light-up bookcase is cool (while it lasts), but this (along with the limited publishing) is what explains the higher cost. Other than that, do not expect too much from the book itself or even the cloth poster for that matter. For a more exciting/interesting book on the Division, I would recommend “New York Collapse” as it offers a unique perspective of one of the game’s characters and is presented in a diary format (as if it was discovered in the ruins of NYC).

All you need to know about the Division
A very well put together book with all the information you would want to know about the division. You could easily call this the division encyclopedia. The books covers the history of the dollar flu and how it impacted both New York and D.C. It provides the history of the division and everything that goes into a modern agent. It also provides some back stories on the different factions in both the Division 1 and 2. Throughout the book it has art from the game that a Division player would recognize and love. The poster is quite large and is made out of a cloth like material that should definitely last longer than a standard poster. A must have for any Division fan and collector.

Great story backgrounder
Awesome game backgrounder for both The Division and the Division 2! Definitely worth buying: Kindle version is great but also want the hardcover

I feel a bit ripped off.
Most of the unique art content in this book can be found online and none of the writing is particularly unique. All of it can be derived from the game. It feels like watching a recap episode of a show or anime. The nice thing I have to say about it is that I feel that the artists deserve to have their work praised and clearly some worldbuilding took place, but I wouldn't recommend $20 for it.

Good look into the background of The Division
A good look into the lore of The Division. It doesn't really offer anything new if you have played the games but is a good purchase if you are a collector or want to dig deeper into the background info. If you are new to the world this is worth picking up to get up to speed.

Beautifully presented.... not cheap
Loved both Division games, bought the original collectors boxed Art of, so thought I had to have this.If I am honest this is not fantastic value for money, I mean you can have the book delivered for little over £21.....It is great quality book the book is finished differently than the standard in a gold colour, nothing really new inside. The box lights up and is really nice, and inside there is cloth map in a cardboard sleeve.Overall not really worth nearly £70..... I would say £40-£50, but it looks great on the shelf for completists like me.

Not worth the money.
Just not worth the money. Canvas poster feels cheap (flecked paper rather than actual canvas) and the box feels flimsy. The light even flickers at times and sometimes doesn’t even work. The book is good but worth just £15-20, it’s nothing special. I can’t believe this was £80-100 at one point.

You're better off getting just the book
The poster is poor quality, the box only lights up when it's open. The book is the only decent part of this whole thing.

Expensive but worth it if you love the division
It's a wicked book to read with lots of information. The case with the led lights is cool but the lights aren't very bright and they turn off after a few seconds. The poster is good quality. Its expensive for what it is. Depends how bad you want it.
