Life and Death in the North Woods: The Story of the Maine Game Warden Service

Just FYI - This is the same book that was published in 1985 titled "Maine Game Wardens," by Eric Wight. The only difference is the forward. I happen to have the original, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I imagine most individuals would not be aware of the first book, as it is a pretty specific read. However, with the recent programs on cable following wildlife law enforcement officers on duty, interest in this field has increased. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the conservation efforts and law enforcement duties of the wildlife conservation officers of Maine, as well as those in every state.

There was too much detail about how and why game wardens in Maine do what they do but too few stories of actual events. Really would not recommend anyone spend their money to read it.
