The consistency is thick and creamy and it coats your hair and sticks during the time you complete the rest of your shower before rinsing it out. I lose so much hair I hate to lose more from tangles. I tried another rectangle that was not a 10 because of the strong scent that about gagged me. I got the EV entangled and gave it a couple of sprites on the ends. Instantly came the too strong scent. The good news? After about 5 minutes I couldn't smell it on my hair and in about 15 I couldn't smell it in the bathroom. It works like magic. My wide tooth comb just slid through it. In the first place I have asthma and am allergic to too many scents, and in the second place I don't want my hair to smell like a flower field. I have perfume. It is expensive but no more than most and less than too many are. It doesn't take much.
