NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Eyebrow Pencil, Eyebrow Pencil, Auburn

The rich auburn color, which appears much lighter in all of the pics I could find online than the regular Auburn color appears, was in fact, a very rich darkly colored Auburn. It was FAR too dark for my fair-skinned redhead self (think dark mahogany, for a #4 & under hair dye color, medium to dark shades being best for this.) That said, I would try the regular Auburn, but am now worried that based upon the pics, it could potentially be even darker than the Rich Auburn I bought! The pencil itself is good...a lil on the dry side tho (so I've a feeling it will be a bit breaky due to its dryness, losing a great deal of product; hoping I can get >2wks out of it tbh). My only real complaint is there are not enough color shades available, nor any pics that represent their actual IRL color. (see Rich Auburn vs Auburn pics.)

It always broke off

I purchased rich auburn, it is a wonderful product, goes on lovely, looks fabulous except one thing... It was too dark for a strawberry blonde. Another reviewer said ash blonde would suit someone with red in their hair. I happened to be at a store that sold that particular color, I bought one since ash blonde wasn't available at Amazon at the time I was shopping. Yes, this is my go to color now it looks much like the color my eyebrows should be. If you have lighter red hair definitely go with the ash blonde. I hope now that Amazon is offering this color again that they continue to do so. I much prefer to shop for my makeup with Amazon, I've yet to be disappointed.

As a “prestige” brand make-up user, I decided to try the NYX Micro-Brow pencil since IT discontinued the skinny brow pencil in Auburn. The NYX Rich Auburn is a PERFECT match for my auburn hair! Many times an auburn color is too light, but not this one! Because it is a skinny pencil, it is easier to apply with little hair-like strokes and looks more natural. I begin by applying brow gel so my brows stay in place and it is easier to see where I need to apply color. I find that applying my brow gel first helps to alleviate the pencil from smudging and helps me to apply only what is needed. Although it is not necessary, I do go over the pencil with my brow powder. I get 12+ hours of natural, looking brows that look as fresh at 5:00 pm as they did at 5:00 am. This brow pencil exceeds this “prestige” brand make-up user’s expectations. I will buy multiples of this one.
