Longest Drives Ever for 50yr old
I was fitted to this at my local fitter. 9.5° Rogue Max ST LS with 65g Tensei White shaft. I’ve been playing a 8-10 year old TaylorMade M1 and haven’t found anything over the years to unseat the champ in terms of distance and feel. I miss the white leading edge of the TM, but I cannot argue with the results. Turned 50 this year and I’ve fought to keep my swing speed up using SwingSpeed sticks and PGR. Typically I’m 102-105 mph and can step it up to 105/8. I’m routinely seeing 255-260 and have hit about 10 drives that were 285-290. I wish the hosel had 1/2° adjustments as I’d like to go down to a 9° and I find 8.5° just a little too low. I’ve played around with the D-draw and N-neutral setting and it does make a very small adjustment in setup and the Callaway hosel is nice in that the grip doesn’t rotate when making a hosel adjustment. Liked it so much I just went back for a 3wd fitting — which yielded a Callaway Rogue ST LS 13.5° Strong 3+ with a Tensei White 75gr shaft. Really like the Tensei shaft after playing the Kuro Kage for years in TM clubs.
