I struggle with hair matting because of my depression, so it's always hard for me to eventually brush my hair with the brushes I have because it's always super painful and exhausting and hard to do, and it makes me debate on literally just shaving my head so I don't have to deal with it and so I can just start over. But this brush genuinely helped me relieve that struggle. I think the way you brush determines whether or not it'll be painful cuz there have been a few times where it hurt like a b*tch, but I think that was just on me because for the most part every other time I was just fine. But when I first got it I had a matted area that was like 4x3 inches, and it was working really great on it, no problems whatsoever. However, I made the mistake of not finishing, thinking I'd finish it later but later never came, which leads to today where the matting is even worse and again had me debating shaving everything off. But I remembered I got this brush, and started using it again, and it's working perfectly just like the first time. Obviously it won't fix it right away, dematting takes awhile either way, but I at least think this brush cuts that time on half. I only have 2a-2c textured hair, so I can't say how well it'll work for matting on kinkier hair, but for weeks/months of no brushing, sweating, dandruff, and scratching from psoriasis, this brush was amazing for helping me. The bristles don't stab the scalp (and when they touch the scalp it doesn't hurt), it's super easy to clean because there's no cushion under th bristles where sh*t usually gets stuck in all the time, the size and thickness are basically perfect, but if you have a bigger hand than I do you might want the bigger handle size. I love this brush, and I'll be getting more from them if I ever want another.

My cat is long haired and elderly. She needs a lot of help shedding her fur, especially in the springtime. I love how this covers more of my cat’s flanks than a regular square cat brush. Handle is easy to hold. Those red palmed cat-petting gloves are just too huge for my hands, even though they are ideal for brushing in theory. This is a great compromise

Does well with detangling but hard to grip.

I like this brush a lot. I have very long, but fine hair, that tangles. This brush definitely works better than any others I've used for getting through tangles. The bristle ends are sharper than most brushes, but I like that about it because it feels good on my scalp.

Good detangling brush for curly hair. It does not perform miracles if your curls are in knots, but I find it works better at detangling my hair compared to some other detangling brushes I have used. The handle is easy to grip and use. Would recommend.
