Manual gate control is not adequate in some applications.
If the spreader will be mounted on your vehicle out of your reach when you are driving, then without the optional remote gate control for this spreader you will leave a pile of fertilizer everywhere you stop the vehicle. That remote does not appear to be offered on Amazon. It is available from other merchants online.That said, it appears to be well built from corrosion resistant materials.Whether I can make it work properly won't be known until I can get a remote gate control.

the spreader is mounted over the front axle like the manufacturer recommended
The manual says you need to "fabricate a mount". What you see in the picture is really what you have to work with - just two skids with 4 bolt holes.Fabricating the mount required some design work and a trip to the welder. When all was said and done, the spreader is mounted over the front axle like the manufacturer recommended. Maybe a few inches higher than recommended.The result? Dust in my face, all over my clothes, and a bunch of insecticide on the floor of the mower. On top of that, the back wheels now have a lot less traction because the weight has been distributed to the front wheels, so turning is a bear.I considered mounting this in the rear but was afraid I'd forget it was there, turn sharply next to a tree, and rip the thing off the mower. I'm now reconsidering that decision.

Expensive, but does the job. I fertilize an acre of grass, so I have consistency and spread width, each of which I can change quickly.

Very fragile and expensive to repair
Being able to cover large areas with fertilizer, etc. with minimal effort. Great seed spreader and accurate. Product doesn't last long and needs to be monitored very closely while using. Gets clogged by particulates while spreading products and then the accuracy goes away. I would go with a product that offers customer service with a bit of knowledge, when you contact these people you can't tell them what you need because they need an exact part number. I will gladly throw this one away when I quit doing commercial jobs. Easily broken.

Best machine out there but expensive to set up correctly as far as making hitch for lawn tractor and 4 wheeler.
