Great trimmer! Replace the stock trimmer head.
Honda quality, easy to start and use, nothing to complain about EXCEPT the stock trimmer head which plenty of other reviews complain about - but fear not, it’s an easy fix! Here’s my two recommendations for troublefree operation of this trimmer:1. Throw out the OEM bump feed trimmer head and install a fixed line trimmer head. I bought the Pivotrim Maxpower 3317233 Trimmer Head (well reviewed on Amazon) and it works a hundred times better than the stock head.2. Run ethanol free gas rather than standard pump gas so you don’t run into any carb issues down the line. I use TruFuel 4-cycle fuel available at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Autozone, etc. for all my 4 cycle engines and it runs great.

Have been using over a month and it work great. I don't understand some of the negative reveiws
Have been using over a month and it work great. I don't understand some of the negative reveiws. It is powerful, economical, instant start, and no issue with over heating after using it for over 2hrs. I would highly recommend this product.

Bump head is junk and is heavier than others. Buy a Husqvarna head. It works great now.
Past reviews concerning issues with bump head are correct, it's junk. Need to bump the head HARD, several times,to advance the line. Looking to replace head with different brand. Trimmer heavier than all others I've used. I like it's 4 cycle no mixing oil and gas. Has decent power edging grass. Haven't used on thicker weeds.Update to previous review. Bought a Husqvarna head. The new head works as it should, no bumping the head hard to release new string. Good weadeater with different head.

Engine great - trimmer head worthless
As an engineer who hats been cutting lawns for almost 50 years, this trimmer has a great engine, but that is about it. This my second one in about 10 years, at the bottom, I will tell you how to go from a 1 star to 5.5 star for starter switch- good location, durability good4 star for vibration- I was hoping it would be smoother with the four stroke engine1 star for primer bulb- it is in a bad location and takes over twenty pumps to prime the line3 star for gas size and filling it. You have to cheat to get it completely full, the cap has fallen off a couple of times. It should click on like the one on your car to know that it is tight and will not vibrate off.5 star for getting it started-usually one pull1 star very heavy4 star for balance1 star for the trimmer head. I would score it lower if I could. This is where the design falls completely apart. I spent more time fixing the line in the head then I do cutting. I have done experiments on variously types of lines, how it is wound, engine speed,... nothing seem to work and I went through a ton of line especially In the Arizona summer. The hotter it was outside, the more line I went through. I thought it was me until I read other reviewsI put a echo 450 trimmer head on in place of the honda one. It literally one took two minutes to change out the heads. Remember it is a left handed thread and you have to go the opposite way to loosen it. Once I learned how to load it he echo trimmer head, it was a thing of beauty. That $30 investment cut my edging time in at least half. I struggle with the original Honda head and it cost me an extra 100 hours in the last decade because the line kept getting tangled up. Luckily I read another review who mentioned the echo 450 trimmer head. Honda trimmer plus echo trimmer head = 5 STARS.

Great weed Wacker!
I have turned into a huge Honda fan. Engines are rock solid. This one is a little heavy. I knew that going in. Worth it in my opinion. Some people have issues with the trimmer head. I never even botherd with it. I installed ECHO Speed-Feed 400 Trimmer Head right out of the box. Check it out.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G5KL0QW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Was a little disappointed
I expected a little more from a Honda. Really nothing wrong with the trimmer itself. Just seems underpowered. Def. opt for the 35cc if available.

High quality, durable lawn equipment like it used to be.
Was tired of buying a new weed eater every 2 years... Those cheap 2 strokes seem like they are designed to fail after 2-3 seasons, single residential use. I got this one b/c Honda has always made good motorcycles and cars. It feels and looks like it is well built, and handles much better than any weed trimmer I have ever used. Time will tell how it lasts, but I expect this will be a keeper.Update 2 yrs later:Still works as good as the day I got it. Starts with 1 pull, even for the first spring trim. It might out-last me.
