The Art of Map Illustration: A step-by-step artistic exploration of contemporary cartography and mapmaking (Artistry)

This book shows the map-making process of 4 artists. It is a fun book to look at, but I did not find much usable information in it. There is not enough instruction on map-making to allow a new cartographer to recreate the maps on their own. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

This is a work of art on its own. It shows maps by 4 different artists.There is an emphasis on doing computer maps.Getting Adobe is too expensive for me.There is some instruction but not as much as I would wish. I think it's more of an inspiration book and for me it's not enough of an art map instruction book so I will be getting another. Yet, it is still a nice addition to my art library.

So disappointed in this book. Almost a third of it describes how to make maps digitally using Photoshop and other programs. Not at all what I was looking for.

Beautiful to look at. Bought it for my preteen boys and it wasn’t quite what they were hoping for, so will keep searching for another. But we all enjoyed looking through it.

I love this book for drawing inspiration from. I feel that it is very useful in my work as a graphic artist and illustrator. Will definitely apply some of the tips to my own designs.

This is a very fun and creative book for those who enjoy drawing maps. Lots of great ideas to get you started.
