I had a problem with fruit flies, but not anymore, thanks to the mosquito killer lamp that zaps the critters that then fall in the bottom and can be easily swept out and into the bin. This was a must buy as fruit flies and other flies can leave nasty bacteria on food. This will also get rid of gnats when the summer comes. This item is effective and is nice and lite with a handy carry handle. The unit is nice and quiet and the light is very pleasant and the bug's can't resist it. With the lights off it doubles up as a night light. Awesome catching frying power that does the job. Excellent product

I bought this and followed the instructions to allow the unit to run for 3 hours with no one in the room. I switched it off at night (thankfully). Next day switched it on, left the room after about 3 or 4 minutes I smelt burning and the smoke alarm went off, rushed back in and found the bug zapper arcing and smoking. Immediately switched it off, I dread to think what would have happened if I had been out. In the process of returning unit for a refund.

Works pretty good. It's able to zap fungus gnats so keeps their population down in summer. Only downside is if a particularly big fly gets stuck it will BBQ it until its gone which smells real bad indoors. Also makes a bit of a mess, maybe 10% of the flies don't fall straight down.

Such a good item and good price

It works on mosquitoes and tiny insects but not flies because of poor design function. The cage prevents larger flies getting to the light. I have a fly problem atm can’t seem to get rid of them
