It is lightweight, the fabric feels smooth against the skin and it has a nice comfortable stretch. I sized up as I like my hiking shirts to fit a bit loose, so I can layer them over a tank top. The diagonal design across the bust area is well constructed and flattering. The material in the purple is not see through and I have a black bra on beneath to give you an idea. The thumb hole is positioned perfectly for me, I'm just shy of 5' 10" and have long arms (see photo). I have already washed and worn this shirt and it laundered well and looks perfect. This is a well-made shirt and at the time I got it, it was just under $10, a real bargain.
