It is pretty much hang the tarp and see what you can come up with. They have different setups on You-Tube you could watch to get different ideas. After I added my snakeskin and 35 foot of Dyneema for the ridgeline to the tarp and had to go with a different stuff sack. It came out to 2.15 lbs. The stuff sack the sent, unless you fold the tarp back the way they packed it. It will never fit back into the sack they provide. If you plan on using it for long hikes I would go with something lighter. But it is great for the weekend backpacker or camper. **Q: Does anyone know the waterproof index as in mm of this onetigris all-season tarp** A: I don't know but I put the garden hose on het spray and put it right up to the tarp and could not get water to penetrate the tarp. **Q: can this be used as a winter tarp with doors? Meaning can you fold the ends in to make storm doors? I have an 11 ft hammock.** A: I have a 10 x13 rectangle tarp. I have used it in 5 different configurations including 2 with doors. One was used with my hammock and a ridgeline. One was staked to the ground and I used a trekking pole to support the middle and a paracord tied to a tree. I use a cheap piece of tarp as a ground sheet. This tarp has19 tie outs giving lots of possibilities. Get or make a few extra tent pegs and guylines. A tent or tarp won't make you warmer, but it WILL keep you out of the wind and rain. Be sure the ground sheet (called a footprint) is inside the perimeter of the tarp, otherwise rain will run inside.
