The shell also ensures the proliferation of the item by protecting it from digestion. Animals that eat the seed or nut, grind them with their teeth; but not all get ground. Hence the natural spread of the species via the bowel movement. Do not grind in advance; but rather at the time of consumption. The shell or husk that protects the innards also keeps the beneficial goodies intact. When you grind them you release them. Those who do not grind do not get the healthful benefit that is released by opening mother natures barrier. Pre-ground items are a waste of time and effort as the benefit has likely β€˜long gone’. **Q: Can these be sprouted and eaten as sprouts** A: Unfortunately, I did not try to sprout them and only have a few seeds left which I put into a bowl of water to see if they will sprout. **Q: These taste horrible. I sprinkled one teaspoon on my food every day. Just one day after I started using these seeds my hearth burn was gone and my digestion accelerated. I also felt calm and easy and I am not bloated anymore. The burning sensation I felt on my esophagus and on the sides of my neck and on the back and the top of my head after eating is gone. My sinus allergies are cleared too and my neck is not stiff anymore. I really do not remember how I ran across the information about Black Seeds (Nigella Sativa), but I am glad I found it. I have now read more articles about the history and benefits of consuming these seeds and I think they are true. I cannot say more about the goodness of black seeds because I do not want my review to not be published. All I can say is that I am planning to consume them for as long as I can.
