It is transferrable at first, but once it dries, it is not. The rich, vibrant color doesn't last long, but it is a beautiful shade even as it dries and becomes more faint. Some of the pictures show it when freshly applied and others about an hour later where the shade is still visible, just not intense. I normally just throw this on when I don't have time to worry about lip liner and gloss, but just want something nice and simple on my lips. I apply it quickly without a mirror (hence no lip liner in the pics), and keep some at my desk at work so I can throw it on quickly if I have to run to a meeting and don't have time for my normal lip combo. I love it so much that I was inspired to write this review as soon as I applied it this morning. I didn't have time to apply my normal lip combo and decided to throw this on since I was running behind. I have used more expensive lip stains but always find myself coming back to this one the most frequently. It does work best if you put it on and leave it on for a while then wipe The excess off cuz it really does leave your lips stained very nicely and then just cover your lips with a lip gloss for shine. The pigments in it are strong so be careful not to get it outside the corners of your mouth or on the skin around your lips because that will stain too.
