This 400 mg dose was prescribed for a severe headaches. About 6 weeks in to it the headaches lightened up and got manageable. I attribute it to the riboflavin. Will continue taking it from now on.

I've struggled with headaches and migraines since I was a child. My doctor always recommended things like drinking more water and taking out caffeine, but things like that never worked. One day my doctor told me to try taking riboflavin and magnesium in combination once a day in the morning. Within a week, I went from having 4 headaches a week to 1 or 0. It really did work for me. Now when I get a headache it's out of the ordinary instead of a regular thing. I've been taking this with magnesium for several months now and it is still working. It is a bit hard to swallow and sometimes feels like its lodged in my throat but it's a small price to pay for me to be headache free. Give it a try!

I ordered these to help with migraines. The dosage is right (400 mg is what was used in the 2004 European Journal of Neurology study by Boehnke), and the price is good. I'm not qualified to say whether or not this brand consistently provides the labeled quantity of riboflavin, which is always a concern when buying any supplement. I will say that the capsule packaging leaves something to be desired, as it seems to open if you handle it a lot: on at least one occasion I had been carrying one wrapped in plastic to take later, and it opened up. Fortunately the brightly-colored staining orange powder didn't escape my plastic wrapping. So if you buy it, keep this in mind if you do anything with the capsule other than taking it right after removing it from the bottle. I can't speak to how effective it has been in reducing the frequency with which I get migraines, as the frequency was already very variable before I began taking it. As with any medication that is supposed to reduce but not eliminate a variable condition, one can never be sure.
